and yes, pictures please
CO B-man said:Mall is closed we are having a Blizzard. I bet this is gonna be worse than our 2003 Blizzard. I am trying to find my USB chord for my camera.
National Guard is mobilized (Like Mtn Muscle said) but if they are the same as when I was in the guard not much they can do either. Maybe send a humvee too pick up people that need to get to the hospital. not much else. I think the the wreckers would get stuck leta alone deuce and a half if this keeps up untill tomorrow. My Tahoe went through it with ease today but if this kept up I doubt it. I am not taking any chances personally.

good excersize in futility may make it easier for you tomorrow thoughmountain muscle said:Flights cancelled at DIA. Even the ground crews were getting stuck in the snow. I wonder if my buddy who is an airport manager is stuck out there?
So Far, I-76, I-70, and I-25 closed right now.
Drifting up close to the middle of my fence right now. Damnit I should go shovel the driveway once at least today.
KSHARP01 said:Damn, I can't even picture nothing like that! Gotta a fire place? Sounds like a cuddle alert is in order
CO B-man said:good excersize in futility may make it easier for you tomorrow though
KSHARP01 said:it must really suck when it is so cold outside and you have to shovel your driveways to get out and the salt from the trucks can't be good for you cars...or does it not bother them at all? Stupid questions? lol we may get ice on our windshields from time to time and just that is a pain....I just couldn't do it.
CO B-man said:You adapt. Shoveling sucks but I have lived in an apartmnt the last two years since I sold my house. when it snows I park on a different level of my parking garage that snow can not get to but this time you should see the parking garage it too has many cars snowed in with drifts.
mountain muscle said:It is not that bad Ksharp. Still about 20 degrees out but the wind makes it chilly. The drifting is going to be the big problem from this storm. The airport is shut down right now until tomorrow evening sometime.
I am going to head down to the corner store and get some foods.
test boy ii said:Pretty cool if you don't have to do anything.
jenscats5 said:Figures!! I can't ski yet.......it'd be some good POW out there....
mountain muscle said:Hey Tboy how are things looking in your part of Denver?
My dogs legs are buried when they venture out back and some of the drifts are starting to work over the hoods of the cars on the street. Over a foot when I opened my garage door and it is on the leeward side of the house.
The wind is picking up here too.
test boy ii said:This would have been an insignificant snowfall in the 70's.
I've got a little more than a foot here....maybe 15" or so.
My four fountians by the front door are still plugging away.
Thanks for making me look. My sausages were starting to burn.
p0ink said:dammit, i'm supposed to fly out of DIA tomorrow.
beefcake28 said:DIA is closed at least through tomorrow evening... It's not gonna happen.
mountain muscle said:This is a big storm for these days. Growing up we had a condo in Eagle Vail and ski trips we would wake up just buried in snow, shovel our way out and hit the slopes. The downstairs hot tub was a nice respite at the end of the day. Wish we would have kept it. I would be living there now.
jenscats5 said:Figures!! I can't ski yet.......it'd be some good POW out there....
mountain muscle said:No it isn't. But this is a good chance to get some vouchers and comps.
My buddy is out there right now, worked all day and has to stay through the night and tomorrow at least. He says they are having a lot of trouble clearing snow because of the high winds blowing it right back.
I would call them before your flight, and call a hotel nearby to make a res, just in case. Probably won't get one but try.
beefcake28 said:I've been snowboarding 6 times this year... Just to rub it in a little.

jenscats5 said:Ohhhhh you're SO mean!!
I also got invited by friends to go skiing in the Poconos (like they have snow) 1/5 but I had to decline since I can't yet.....![]()
Angel said:I know this sounds mean, but better you than me..
I am in Mass and have not seen much snow at all this year..in fact it has been really nice out.. I am loving it!
I cannot drive in the snow, and I have a different car than I did last year so I have not driven in the snow with it (yet).
I really hope the most that we get this season is about 9 inches in total, that would be awesome...Guess we are suposed to get alot of rain or some thing for xmas (last weather report I heard was 1 day ago)...It all could change, however I hope not.
beefcake28 said:Vail opened up some of their back bowls... Talk about wide open spaces, with powder up to your knees. If that isn't Heaven, I don't know what is.![]()
ok, I'll stop now.
Come on over and play in the snow. I'll even buy the wings and beer afterwards...
jenscats5 said:I've never skiied out west - never thought I was good enough to be able to, but I'd like to try someday......And you're on!
must suck for drivers!mountain muscle said:No worries Angel, I am glad we are getting snow. I love it. Most of the idiots are off the road. Literally. And it means that play time in Colorado has begun.
Just am glad I didnt have to go to the rig today, I bet those boys are stuck out there now.
beefcake28 said:I hope you like your wings hot! If they don't make you sweat, they aren't hot enough... Maybe that's just me.![]()
When I moved here, boarding in the Rockies was like learning all over again, but you learn fast... When it takes 45 minutes to go down one run, you can't help but to learn quickly. And you don't have to hit the double-blacks to get a taste of some good powder. I've hit knee deep powder on the blues and even some of the greens, you just gotta know where to go. I'm in the mountains boarding just about every weekend, so I know all the fun spots.
jenscats5 said:Sounds soooo cool........you go out in the backcountry ever?? Take your shovel, rope, beacon, probe, etc etc & watch for tree wells!
KSHARP01 said:Colorado made the news down here, I got to see how bad it was that you were talking about. Looks terribly cold and miserable.
beefcake28 said:Nah... I love the snow. It's fun to play in.

beefcake28 said:I've been tempted, but never have. It is so funny going over mountain passes here, because all along the roads, there are backcountry skiiers/boarders hitchhiking from the bottom to get a ride back to the top for another run. People in trucks just let them climb in back and ride up to the top of the pass with them. I love it how cool people are about that stuff here. It is almost just expected.
alien amp pharm said:For real.
They are talking about snow as if it is a bad thing.
Obviously they've never been snowboarding.
I've only got to go once this year, hopefully I will be able to go more in Jan.
p.s. You got room for me?
