I would be enraged if my children were to be kidnapped, tortured or killed by anyone.

However, if the US truly represents all that is correct in this world we must lead by example. Detaining children against their will, with no justification other than coercion, is ridiculous.

I can only imagine what it would be like to have someone take my children. Those boys must frightened, Tactics like this will only stimulate resentment and animosity against our nation. I'm sure this will solidify Muhammad's personal resolve and will make current attempts to make him break futile.

Interesting mindsets on this thread... the fact that I dont trust thep administration's motives for this 'war on terror' taints my opinion anyway... How are they being tortured? All they are offering to do is release them if Mohammed cooperates. Thats not torture.

If they told mohammed his kids were being psychologically or sexually tortured, without them actually being tortured, that will accomplish the same thing but without the mayhem.

Fuck, just get some little kid with a voice similiar to one of his kids to start crying & screaming hysterically into a tape recorder and play it for Mohammed. That might work. Doctored photos would be nice too.

All in all, yes Al Quaeda would have no qualm torturing a CIA official's son if they thought it would give them info. But so what? just because other people commit murder or steal doesn't give me the right to do so without being held accountable.

Mohammed can probalby be convinced his children are being tortured, even if they are playing Playstation 2 in Langley the whole time. which may be the stress needed to break him. Then again, it may backfire. Would you cooperate with people who were willing to abuse your kids?

If torturing the kids was to gaurente very useful info then do it. But, I really think it would have an opposite effect on muhammed, his only way of getting back at us for torturing his kids is to withhold info. These guys are on a holy war and ARE ready to die at any moment. I think the best way to get info is to drug the captured prisoners and get them to spill their guts. If they took a few tabs of acid I bet we could get some info out of them. Especially if you tie them up and put them in a dark room.
