Chicago Area peoples

Going to Chicago for long weekend in October. Any locals give me ideas on best things to check out or best things to stay away from? Staying downtown near the Loop. Any good places to eat/suggestions?

Also what are the big ethic neighborhoods. Want to check out Polish/Serbian areas etc. Going to be in City Thursday morning to Sunday night.

I stayed at the Drake when in Chi and freaking loved it but my trip there was based souly on shopping which is for sure the best shopping I have ever seen in the US but I have yet to be to NYC and imagine that as the mecca of US shopping.

The House of Blues has great acoustics. I saw Satyricon there.

Okay, they don't usually play black metal there, but the sound is AMAZING there!
