Can't take the supplements I want, but can take a pill that will kill an unborn child

I guess a soon to be PHD in rocket science doesn't count. I do blame the parents for not being closer to their daughter to have her trust and for also not even taking some responsibility in the matter.

I blame planned parent hood for giving her the "easy" way out. I blame the hospital for being a bunch of monkeys. My ex went in when she had a miscarriage at two months and they kept her there for almost twelve hours and ran every known test on here to make sure nothing was still in there that would cause problems. They gave her anti biotics just in case there was an infection, and required her to see the doctor the next day.

She could have gone to any clinic or any doctor to get a script for the pill or had a tradition D&C - infection and possible death would lay available either way.

She probably when to PPH b/c she didn't have health insurance.

Your ex was treated as she should have - as every woman no matter the circumstance be treated.

RU-486 - is OTC here
.well, you need a PHARMACIST to prescribe it, but really, its impossible to find one that wont

Pharmacists write scripts in Canada?

Here you need a doctor to write a script for you to bring to the Pharmacist.

OTC drugs are like asprin and on the isles of a drug store.

just in Sask, and just for da morning after pill

The morning after pill in NOT the RU-486 pill.

The morning after pill is for the first 72 hours and is like a high dose of birth control pills - RU-486 is an abortion in a pill.

Yes, she could have gone to any doctor and probably went there to avoid her parents finding out and no insurance either. She hopefully was told to follow up with the doctor over the coming days and to go to the hospital if weird things happen. I suspect however, she was not able to fully comprehend what was going on with her and was probably scared as well.

I have an 18 year old daughter who is intelligent, gorgeous, and very, very naive! I would not expect her to rely on her experiences, etc to guide her to what to do in that situation. I would just pray that she would know that no matter what it was she could come to me or her mom for help and advice.

I think her parents probably let her down as much as the hospitals and doctors did.

You're probably right but this particular girl was 18 and a legal adult - regardless of where she could have chosen to go she did not need her parent's consent.
