Broadening Shoulders

If you begin swimming at an early age, it will help. Once the bones get set, no such thing. Don't matter if you MP holding the plates instead of the bar.
 
Despite popular belief , there is some ability for the ribcage to expand due to the stretching of the cartridge in the ribcage. You must in early and middle teens to do this as it takes years to develop.

But expanding your ribcage and getting wider are two totally separate issues. Ribcage expansion would be getting deeper, not wider. I don't believe anything will make you wider except growth hormone whether endogenous from being young or high dose jintropin

big traps make you look much wider from the front.. they do the same thing for your shoulders as lat spread does for your back..

ill take a pic of my shoulders and show you when i get a chance...
 
i dont think the guy was trying to expand his skeleton, just put mass on his actual deltoids which does widen your shoulders since the extra muscle sticks out farther on either side. also don't neglect your traps, maybe a pencil neck would create the illusion of wider shoulders but powerful traps are an important part of a guy's physique (just saw the guy explained himself already earlier in the thread, my bad)

I'm not saying to neglect the traps, but if your traps are out of proportion with your shoulders, you won't have that nice v-shape. You will still look thick but having good symmetry is equally important.
