Breaking News from ESPN: FBI Agents link McGwire to AAS.

DIVISION said:
Better question.

Were they ever looking out for us end users?

I don't think so. If you didn't know before, now you do: you are on your own when it comes to AAS.

If you didn't know that, you are naive.

Dude, I know we're on our own for sure. But you should have seen some of the people here who were so gung ho around election time, seemingly feeling that were Bush to not be re-elected all our problems were behind us.

I'm trying to say basically the same thing you're saying. I'm just trying to point out to some of these guys it's not black and white on this issue or liberal or conservative. Many of the younger guys (I'm only 28 but many here are younger) would probably guess that liberals are open minded about this issue but really don't seem to realize that many of the people driving this media feeding frenzy are as liberal as anybody else. Many of the prominent names at ESPN are admitted liberals, and probably most, and we have the fact that basically half the members of Congress are at the very least not conservative.

Hell, we have to realize as well how many of the people out there don't realize that in the real world of working 40+ hours a week it's pretty damn hard to get a whole lot bigger than Mark Wahlberg without a little juice or a whole lot of fat. While at the same time the standard in their mind of "in shape" looks a whole lot like Vin Diesel or The Rock when it comes to appraising a male's physique.

Well, really it's pointless for me to keep going on about it becausing I'm just rehashing what we all rant about daily. Of course sometimes these threads are a welcome break from the same questions being asked over and over again on the board because at least they're current.

When it comes to the issue of AAS, the political parties are thrown out the window. Both sides are making it out to be the next "crack". Politicians need controversy and new "demons" to exorcise in order to be reelected. It doesn't matter what side of the fence these guys are on politically. AAS are a great rallying tool now. Get ready for the future. It will get continually more difficult to obtain and use AAS for personal use.

Two innacurate comments on this thread:

- Predictions of a disastrous future where the govt. "doesn't let up" on AAS use

- That the general public will never accept AAS use

Sequential predictions of the future (this will happen, then this, then this, then this, then this) are a little silly ... after all, how many were predicting these specific events a year ago?

IMO AAS has a good chance of gaining better acceptance through its HRT and cosmetic potential as well as a few other things

PS - Reason why liberals may be unsympathetic to AAS? It's a hypermasculine pursuit and modern liberalism is not on friendly terms with things of strong masculinity

Breaking News "STERIODS SAVED BASEBALL!" in 1998 Sosa & Bic Mac's HR battle brought baseball back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Congress is a F'in joke.

DIV, your point is well taken. this will affect all of us. If nothing else it has made AAS a "hot button issue". if the politicians think it will bring them votes they will beat it into the ground. And the way they will do it is by talking about "all the high-schoolers using". Remember..Exstacy was all over the place in the late 80's, easy to get (hell it was not even a scheduled narcotic), and no one really cared about it, UNTIL it became politically advantagous to prosecute it. Now its Schedule I and one of "the deadliest drugs around". Dont think the same thing cannot happen with AAS. PEACE

In the same fashion that you think my logical conclusions are flawed, I think you are chasing an impossible dream, Aristotle.

Laugh now, Cry later........

Aristotle (the philosopher) always was a dreamer.......not a realist.

^^^That was the whole point of my thread.

Getting people to understand that this AAS scrutiny has consequences for all of us in some way, even if it just limits our choice of available sources.
