BP's containment cap over well removed

I'm sure Barry has a plan.

yes I'm deeply irritated he hasn't swum down there himself yet to screw a cap on the mother fucker. Cause let's not forget it was the govt. that is at fault for BP's incompetence. Yep, they hire all the CEO's and instruct company wide policy. Totally his fault no I get it.

Here is some more inside information for you. The reason BP is not taking in more oil is because the water is out of spec for overboard.

So how this works is when you produce an oil well, you usually produce quite a bit of salt water with it as well. Not your normal ocean saltwter but ancient ocean's salt water with maybe 10 times the salinity and sometimes other nasty things.

If the water is clean enough, you seperate it from the oil and then dump it into the ocean but if it is not clean "out of spec" (has some mercury, arsonic or other bad juju) you have to either re-inject it or in this case, send it onshore for disposal.

So, because this water is out of spec, disposing of it is the bottleneck on how much oil BP can collect from the well. However, by not collecting it, the water is just going into the ocean anyway along with the oil and the gas!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't see the forest through the trees comes to mind.

wow....which means this situation is even way more fucked. I'll bet BP dumped thousands of tons of that water before somebody asked "what y'all doin with that shit water anyhows?".

Heck yeah! We should totally stop them from dumping out of spec water!

Hmmm... I wonder what percentage of those contaminents are in unprocessed water.

you say "hmmm" alot for someone who more often than not doesn't completely flesch out a rational intuitive argument. You just knee jerk blurb.

Would someone like to explain this to RS?

His capacity to completey miss the point never ceases to amaze me.

hmmmm ... seems like a feeble attempt of diverting attention from the mystical (or mythical) 5 plate squats

Yup.

This is the point where he's been called-out in another thread and we're supposed to pretend it isn't happening in the name of staying on-topic with other threads.

So be very quiet... We're playing the make-believe game now. I've seen this movie before.

Sticking to the subject ... the news showed a baby dolphin that dies in FL today covered in oil. It made me sad :(

Oh, and regarding the topic at hand:

Here's a hint RS -- why settle for half a loaf of bread when you could have none?

It's entertainng me that you still don't get it.

You do know it's grounds for a timeout and/or ban to be rehash a topic in mulitiple threads that have nothing to do with it...right? If you like we could go talk to a mod about this and see if they think it's ok to hijack any old thread you feel like. I don't care what I've been supposedly called out on in another thread.....this thread is about something else and apparently you and pick3 don't have anything of consequence to add so you're just trying to atagonize me. It's not going to work and you don't need to pretend anything...I said my piece in the other thread, in fact I said alot of pieces's. Am I supposed to just keep playing in that thread cause you feel like it? And if I don't you're just going to follow me around?

Hey, you have a small unsatisfying cawk and that's why your ex wife left you......I think I'll bring that up every chance I get in whatever thread I feel like, actual topic being irrelevant.

I have tons of animals......chickens, dog, cat, roster and 2 pigs! Love what animals do for us, this shit is a joke! We supposedly have the best technology but can't stop an oil spill! But yet we have machines that go deeper than that to check out different species?

Does this mean we're not going to see that vibrams-powered 5-plate squat anytime soon?

I'm starting to think you don't like me. I am saddened.

Don't give him false hope. He's been PM'ing me for cawk pics for months.

Now you've got to ask yourself one question here......if some dude was jonesing for cawk pics would he be doing so from an old dude who makes alot of money yet his ex left him? Not too many wimminz out there leaving six figga nigga's with huge cocks so I'm going to go out on a limb and say you're probably "short" on that stock aren't you? :lmao:

Yeah, if I was pming for cawk pics I would done so with a verfified monster like, say, Layinback? Rest assured if I wasn't hounding him for pics I'm not on you ole boy.

It's time to accept the fact that I'm never going to send you a cock picture.

No, no and no. You're seriously creeping me out.

???? WTF are you guys doing to my thread?

I can squat 5 plates...like total: one around my neck and two on each end... lolz

You all need to kick me some K for "thread" rent!

Then you haven't been watching it before. That is less than 10% of what has been leaking in the past. Wait until tomorrow's newspaper, they will announce collecting at least 90% of flow.

Should have bought BP and APC stock today.

I doubt... BP's reputation will be tarnished for quite sometime... Stopping the oil is relatively the easy part of thise whole debacle.. This spill itself will take hundreds of years and billions of dollars to fix!!

There stock isn't going to be worth shit anytime soon.

Do you have a source that BP is collecting 90% of the oil or is that your guess?

OMG - hundreds of years. Really? I bet you in 3 yrs you will never have known this happened. I will bet you in 1 yr, the beaches will look just like they did before.

I'd happily take that bet bill! 3 years? really? Tell that to the ppl in Cordova Alaska... 20 years later and they are still feeling the effects from the Exxon spill.. Both enviromentally and financially..

History dictates that it will certainly take more then a year to clean up the beaches Bill.

Interesting read here on the Exxon spill

Bill, do you work for BP? Or perhaps you are a scientist? Because you offer up quite a bit of opinion w/ very little fact to back it up...

I bet you in 3 yrs you will never have known this happened.

that pretty wishful thinking my friend! If only it were possible.

How much oil has leaked into the gulf

It is estimated (conservatively) that over 80 million gallons of oil have leaked into the gulf so far...

You talk about beaches, yet seem to have no understanding of ocean currents etc... this oil will one day and up all over the freakin place...

Still think 3 years Bill...

yeah they're still finding oil washing ashore in the prince william sound, and some of those fish species apparently never came back.

Bill's right, "we" will forget all about it in 3 years....but the gulf folks will obviously not. And the beaches may very well get cleaned up but every so often someone's gonna get a tar ball rolling over them and they'll come running out of the water screaming "get it off, get it off!!!". And that will preclude people from going in the water that day. People are still going to go to the beaches there cause the prices are just going to fall through the floor....we know that, but economically this is still going to hurt for years if not decades to come. I for one can assure all of you I will not be eating gulf seafood in my lifetime. After hearing how they still find that shit in fish caught in the sound.....nope, not for me. Ironically the fish that are going to do the most to naturally clean up the ocean, like the oysters and shrimp, are the ones that you shouldn't go near for years to come if ever....and those are the staples of that seafood economy. What a fucking waste.

Anyone who has lived or vacationed on the beaches in the Gulf of Mexico know that every time after walking the beach and before you come back into your beach house or your car, you have to take some vasaline or crisco and wash the tar off your feet.

Where does this tar come from??? Natural oil seeps into the ocean. Has been going on for hundreds of millions of years (or just 5 thousand years for Bible enthusiast).

Also, have you ever been to beaches in Texas?? South Padre Island?? How about Cancun? Do you know that Mexico had a blow-out in the 80 that went on for over 1 yr. Did you see any of this while on vacation snorkling or hanging out on the beach in Cancun??

Here - read a little history about it

Ixtoc I oil spill - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Have you ever been to Los Angeles? Did you know it is the home of one of the largest natural oil seeps in the world. Ever hear of the Le brea Tar Pits? Say what you will about people from that city, but I don't think it is having that much of an impact on them.

The fact is that oil is not man made. It occurs naturally in our environment and leaks into our envirnment naturally. It is not toxic - (I love the picture of those people in hazmat suites wiping off the beach when everyone around them are in their swimsuit).

Yes this is a disaster and a complete fuck up on BP's part but after the well is capped and the first hurricane blows this shit around the country and everyone is tired of hearing CNN report about it, you will notice very little about it ever happening.

I will notice more than you do as I make my living in this industry and will get the regulatory back lash that is soon to follow.

Time will tell. I doubt we will be here in 100 million years (and I am talking humans not you and me) but I am willing to check back with you here in 3 yrs and see how this looks.

As it turns out I have been to both LA (several times) and Cancun once :) Don't really like either place...

My point isn't that everyone will forget about this disaster, because I believe indeed they will. My point was that it will take a hell of a lot longer to rectify both the enviromental and financial damage..

Just because the beach looks clean (same goes for water) doesn't make it so.

This may well turn out to be the largest oil spill ever after the Gulf war debacle, and by some estimates already is...

BP are certainly not the only ones to blame here...

In regards to "oil not being toxic" I wouldn't bath in the stuff! There is certainly enough evidence to suggest that oil is not good for your health. The dispersants that were used by BP certainly are toxic.

Bill, i'm not looking for a debate here but I think sinse you are in the "industry" you may be a bit bias.. You sound a little like a BP spoke person...

You make it sound like it's really not that big a deal and everything will be fine in a few years, shit like this happens all the time , Oils not toxic blah blah blah...
