Boycott The Movie: Pearl Harbor

well why would we care to tell it from the side of the japs?? we are Americans and thats all that matters. I don't sympathize for anything they went through. I personally think we should have nuked one of their larger cities.

one of my grandfathers served in the pacific the other in Europe

One was nearly beaten to death by Nazis

the other almost burned alive in fire while working in the engine room on an aircraft car. after kamakizis were succesfull in crashing into the ship he was on.

Our own govt allowed the attack to take place so I don't exactly think their attack was perfect. This was the only way we could get into the war.

Don't act like the Americans don't have shit behind their ears too, we've done some pretty terrible things that make Pearl Harbor look like a picnic.

Seriously, I mean America has probably done worse then any country excluding Germany with Hitlers rain of terror.

well lets not forget Stallin, or the women and children who fell victim to mustard gas courtesy of Mr Husein, or how about the thousands of POW's that were captured tortured or murdered by the Japs and Vietnamese

Don't forget about the civilians who were treated the same way by the Japs in WW2

What Atrocities has the U.S. performed that can even compare to that??

Whether or not you see the movie, do not bad mouth what we suffered at Pearl Harbor. More than 5,000 Americans were murdered on Sunday morning and for most militarypersonell they were in chuch or something. Second, over 1500 sailor's died abord the USS Arizona when it sank. Only they didn't die right away, they were entombed in darkness and suffocated to death, tapping on the bulkheads for help from above and all we could do was listen to them die.

The japenese made a mistake and their greatest military man Admiral Yamamato, even admitted as such.

I personally have nothing against the Japenese today, but for those who took part back then in Pearl Harbor, may their souls rot in hades for all eternity.

And don't even think of giving me that shit about how bad or worse we were. Just keep that to yourself!

To give you an idea about japenese knowledge of Pearl Harbor.

A while back there were American Sailors/Marines at the Arizona Memorial, and there were a bunch of Japenese tourists there. One of them turned and asked where they were and if they were at the USS Arizona. One of the Sailors turned and said, "YOU SHOULD FUCKING KNOW, YOU, PUT HER HERE"

They have know idea about what they did then.

Sometimes its better if we close our ears and our minds off to the things we don't want to hear.

have you guys seen the movie 'Tora, Tora, Tora'.....i think its a pretty fair account of pearl harbour and onwards right up to the batle of midway, and it accounts both japanese and american perspectives, its a decent movie, not the crap hollywood seems to be churning out now (i haven't sen pearl harbour yet so ill reserve judgement and all that)

oh and lol@tomcat :D

I cannot believe all the racist and bigoted comments on this thread. And, I thought the Japanese Americans were being overly sensitive when I read they were concerned about anti-Asian resentment when this film comes out. If this thread is any indication, they have reason to be (and calling them "Japs" doesn't help).

The German atrocities far outweigh anything the Japanese did. The Nazis were literally taking over Europe and doing their damndest to wipe out the entire Jewish population while they were at it, while the United States (FDR in particular) wouldn't even get involved in a war raging in Europe for years until the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. And, you say the Germans have somehow atoned for their crimes because they supposedly "accepted the idea of fucking up"? There are still Nazis all over the world, including right here in the United States who still revere Hitler as a "martyr". How many movies have been made showing the evil that Nazis do? Countless. Yet, I don't hear anybody saying that "Krauts" are evil or fuck Germany. So, if you want to talk about "invasions" of other countries or the evils of the Japanese, let's not leave out the Europeans and the many countries they've invaded and taken over (the United States included).

You bigots need to stop showing your ignorance. It's appalling.

I can't believe you guys are still on to this. The Japs of 1940s is not the Japs of 2001 !

Not to flame .... but for the info of Kakdeisel, the Japs enlisted several Korean officers, who were just as cruel to other Asians... heck, the Korean officers under the japanese army, were even more cruel according to historic accounts in Southeast Asia and China ...
... but this was 60 years ago ... the world has changed ...

the Movie (i haven't seen it) ... is suppose to be a reminder that we should not go to war ... because nobody wins in war ... sure, you win battles, but a lot of people get killed by this stupidity.

The war you should be thinking about is Right Here, Right Now .... there is still a lot of racial discrimination and hate crimes ...

The important thing is to learn from history and that countries who go to senseless wars are losers .. it's a waste of lives.

The US, British, Spain, Dutch, French, and other colonizers of the 18th and 19th century are just as guilty as debauchery of people they conquered.

In the 1980s (especially during Republican rule), the US sponsored a lot of dictatorship ... these are leaders who opress poor people ... in Latin America, Southeast Asian, Africa, and other countries. Why do you think US embassies around the world are occasionally bombed ... do you really think it's the people there that are evil? .... you can't begin to imagine how the US foreign policies have interferred with the lives of people's ..

All superpowers (US, Japan, France, UK, China), they have some deep shit sins ... all are guilty as hell.

don't blame the citizen's (most are innocent), blame their government and their leaders ...

Amen
