Bowflex is great!

For hanging your laundry on.

Money is much better spent buying a squat rack, bench and free weights.

wut do u guys think then sell it and get what i can for it
or keep it just to fall back on like if i cant go to the gym atleast i go workout on it

you are bound to find some moron who will pay some big bucks for it.... :D

Dude, the Bowflex is all you need. Haven't you seen the commercials.

But seriously. I bought one about 8 years ago for those days that I couldn't get ot the gym. Used it about 10 times and then the thing collected dust for a couple years.

Sell it to 2nd wind or any other used excercise retailer. Play it again maybe. I bought mine for about $800 and sold it for $400. Otherwise try Craiglist.

yah i was thinking about it i got the extreme 2 wich
i payed about 2500 with taxes how much could i get for it now

don't you remember the ripped bodybuilder police officer on the infomercial with the pecs the size of TX? He had trouble against the POWERRODS.... that is enough evidence that it is better than free weights hands down...

didn't you see the smiles and the amazement of the faces of the people watching the demonstration?!.... it's pure evidence that the powerrod technology is hands-down better than free-weights...

Body builders are not strong.

I'd put any power lifter up against anyone who trained only on the bowflex any day.

Is this thread a joke?

i really think u should call chuck norris before he kicks ur ass for not buying a total gym. lol.

Eh, I have one of those and used it for two years before joining a real gym. It did wonders for my flexability but not much for strength. So my verdict is they are great for improving flexability and burning calories but very poor for strength gain.

You know what? In all seriousness. Not that I would buy one personally, but if you eat properly and do resistance training I dont see why you couldn't get big and shredded working out with rocks or logs. Go ahead, buy one. It is what it is, resistance. There are inmates working out with home made weights right now that make 90% of the general public look like shit. I dont know about everybody else, but I'm the type of guy who could live on a fucking deserted island and still lift.

A pair of gymnastic rings is a better workout than the "total gym", and significantly cheaper.

True. Their much harder to use though unless your in good shape. Remember the target audience is fat, overweight time strapped people.

But we are talking, for the money you would spend on the bowfles, you could have bought a squat rack, bench, an Oly bar and weights. Which is all you need and will give you much better results then the bowflex, or any other gimic machine out there.

Bowflex only sells because of advertising.

but i noe for the same money i could of gotten all those things
but since i have already botten the bowflex is it worth it
to workout on it or just let it collect dust and go to a gym?

That question has been answered. I would suggest you sell it, get as much as you can for it and use that money towards a squat rack, bench and free weights. Or a gym membership.

The bowflex is really a waste of time. There are no athletes that train with it, no body builders, or powerlifters, no olympic lifters, no one uses the bowflex.

But if you want to give it a shot go ahead, no one is stopping you.

FYI, the extreme 2 is only bringing around 500 bucks on craigslist. Sometimes less. There are hundreds of them on there. That may tell you something.

Nothing beets free weights bro.

True, but anything (to an extrent) beats nothing and being sedintary. You can make big improvements with it, but free weights I believe would accelerate those gains and improvements.
If you don't want to join a gym, then it's a decent substitute. If you can join and WILL lift at a gym, then sell the bowflex. Will pay for a lot of months at a gym. :)
