As of yesterday, I can finally do a full 1 by myself... :arty:

I know not a big deal for many of you, but it's accomplishment for me :)

Anything you can do today that you couldn't do the day before is a HUGE accomplishment. Congrats!
I can do about 5 with body weight in good form.
How do you train to do more chin ups? I mean I know you obviously have to do more chin ups but is there a method for training for this? For instance, what if, like Miss24k, you can only do 1, how do you train to increase that number? Do you train at it everyday? Certain number of sets? Etc. The reason I'm asking is my son (11) can do 1 with good form and I'm trying to help him increase that #. He does them pretty frequently but can't seem to get past 1.
Thanks.

I've got a method u could try that I found in Arnold's Encyclopedia. Pick a target # of reps...say 10 for u. Do as many sets as it takes to get those 10 chins...even if it's 10 sets of 1 rep each. Do this 2x a week and before u know it u'll be crankin em out. As u get better at it, increase ur # of target reps. I started on this method 2 months ago when I could only do 5 on the first set. Today it took me 4 sets to get 37 reps. (I'm 225) My buddy is tryin this method and he's noticing improvements in the third week too.

Yeah, I tried that the other day. I tried going for 50. :D

I did 20 at first, then 15, then 12, and then 3. lol. I felt friggin awesome after it though, and im still a little sore! I definately loved it.

I honestly don't even know how much chin ups I can do with just bodyweight...but I can kill about 6 reps with 100# on a weight belt....I can also do 2 one-hand chin-ups.....all these with my chin above the bar

I jus did 23 chinups lastnight in the gym, I usually start out with pullups or chinups everytime I go to the gym, jus one set of as many as I can.. It really helps out for anyone looking to add something new to your workout.. I also hit up one set of chest every workout.. Notice alot of gains off both excercises.. Can also do 20 Wide-grip pullups.. I love back day!! Killer..

When I was on cycle I could do 20 with a 45lb plate strapped to me.

With the plate I'd do one set of 20 then rest, one set of 15, rest, and then grip really wide and shoot for 20 with no weight.

I can do about 7 perfect chinups now at 228lbs bodyweight. They are improving.

Back when I was 155lbs I could do 12 perfect wide-grip behind the neck chins untrained whenever I felt like it. The heavier you get the harder they get.

hmm, interesting question. i've never tried

i always start it with 8 reps with bodyweight which i can use easilly then i proceed to weight on the belt

40 lbs on the belt, the most i can do is 8 reps. But i don't know the most i can do with my own bodyweight
