So anyway, I am benching yesterday and I ask some dude to spot me on a burn out set 1 min after my last work set... I ask this little 135 lb dude for the spot since it is only 275 on the bar.... Anyway, the dude helps me get the last one up (16th rep) and proceeds to say -

"You know you should keep your feet close together when you bench or you will likely cause a muscle imbalance in your shoulders or overcompensate for a side if it gets weaker"

to which I said -
"That is funny cause when I have noticed that if you have 400+ on the bar if you have your feet close together you could very likely end up in the hospital when your ass tips off the side of the bench"

to which he says -
"well I am a "ABCDE" (or whatever) trainer and I just thought you should know"

being that I am getting older I restrained myself and said -
"well I will keep that in mind" and rolled my eyes as I unloaded plates while he walked away....

punk ass trainers who wiegh 135 shoudl not be giving advice to 250lb dudes putting up 400+. to think I gave him props for putting up bodyweight.

Is that a raw number, or shirted? Because if it's raw, then you are right. But if it's shirted, then he probably outlifts you raw.
 
i hate when people do biceps multiple days in a row, doing hammer curls with the whole body...

i'm not about to try and give him advice about getting more out of it if you can actually lift the weight properly, he'll learn one day...

edit: it's not like he's doing a bicep exercise multiple days in a row, dudes doing 5-6 bicep excercizes 2-3 days in a row, and i've yet to see him work lower body once.

I have been training for 15 years and have come across all of the dumb ass people you could imagine but last month They had about a 35 year old man that was loaded on speed and trying to train. He had his string tank top and curling 60lbs on the staright bar. In mid set he yells out that he is a bad mother #%$ er, then when he finished the set he yells out that he loves Jesus!!
Now that is Dumbass!
 
275 for 16 reps aint sheet you weak azz bitch! I can curl 275 for one Kabilllionzillion times and then proceed to slap you around a bit for a cool down.

powerlifters and commercial gyms jsut dont mix..sooner or later punk ass bodybuilders become jealous that someone can lift more than them and right away the animosity starts..why do you use those funny brds whats with the chain/bands etc..

im tired of it and i usually give someone a smartass answer when ever they ask me why im doing that
