Big Guy Arms?

Ive got to learn to slow my reps down or something. Ive lifted for years but it has always been for sports so my lifts were always very explosive. Im fairly strong but not nearly as big as my lifts would indicate. Im actually going to start lifting for more of a body building look. Just as a comparison this guys says he has 17.5 inch arms and only uses 60lbs for skull crushers, and thats on a cable. I also have 17.5 inch arms but my last set of skull crushers is 185 for 2, and thats free weight and touching the bar to my head (just above the eyebrow line). Like I said I'm happy with my strength but do you guys have any tips on lifting for pure size.

But I am 5’5”, 7:20 in the morning,

My arms right now are 16.5.

I am sure they get pumped at least another 1” in the gym, or 1.5 inches.


And I have not been working arms, hurt both my stupid elbows, doing triceps not warmed up, preacher curls, anyway, the tendons, hurt like heck, probably take a month to heal.


And one last point ez curls with 60 lbs. yes, no problem.

I know I can do EZ curls with over 80 lbs sitting at a preacher’s bench.

4 sets of 12, I think my daughter could do that.

When I go to the gym this morning, I am going to stretch, warm up. And see how much I can curl, max.

when you say pressdowns, are you talking about cables? Christ, i can pressdown over 150 for reps and I don't even think that is very good
 
What would it take for a 6'5 guys arms to look big? Right now I think I have abou t 18"

i would say 19 and up for someone that height but believe me a ripped 18 " arm on someone that tall looks big.

the biggest arm out of my friends is 20" shredded. dude is 5'10" and has crazy arm, shoulder, and ab genetics. lacks in chest, back, and legs so it all evens out though. his arms look like arnold.

For his height his arms are really big. I`m doing 15reps with 110lbs at bar preacher curls, I`m 6" and my arms are bigger..

Thats what weight i am doing currenly just though i would share
bro i'm 5 7 and at 151lbs i had 17" arms and they looked freakish. you're doing fine.

That's why it's called BODYbuilding NOT ARMbuilding !!

I hope you weren't referring to me in that group, Ive had to always catch my upper body up to my legs, my first day walking into a gym my arms were 16" and my calves were 19".

I have to jump in here again. I dont care if my mother can do more on the preacher curl then me. I am here for bodybuilding not strengh training. Now that being said most people know that some of the smallest guys can be really stong. My uncle for example is skinny as hell never lifted weights but he is strong as all hell. He can out lift me but i am ten times bigger then him. Can i lift more then i posted sure i can do i need to no i dont think so. I came from 13 inche arms. I have started lifting to get a nice muscleuAR body and i think i have done a great job so far. I dont need to be the strongest guy in the gym. Nor do i want to, i like the way my body looks and so do the ladies. Thank god i read along time ago its how you lift not how much you lift and your diet. You go outsude and curl tree logs with the right form and eat enough protein i dont care if the logs only weigh 35 pounds you can still attain 17 inche arms if you know what you are doing its a fact!
