I know personally Im concerned and hopefully prepared...and a bit sad Im not on any emergency teams anymore (to help other peeps out) but I'm not freaked.
Theres one tree in my yard that may pose a problem for the service coming to my house..but theres nothing I can do about it before the storm...so screw it.
I'm not seeing a lot of panic locally...people are fueling up but being civil...grocery stores put out a lot of bottled water but no ones fighting over it..batteries are selling out at big box stores but again, no fighting over it...grocery stores seemed a normal amount of busy for a weekend...
I know coastal communities are evacuating but that's simply prudent because the buoys are registering high surges ahead of the storm and it looks like the swells will breach storm walls ..and people boarded up property along the coast but it hasn't been chaotic by any stretch.
I spent yesterday making sure all of my clients were all set with tree limbs/trees (not in my job description but screw it), making sure roofs that needed to be tarped were situated, materials were secure and in general asked if everyone was set with water, batteries, heat alternatives etc and told em to call if they had big probs because I could probably get to them and help if I could.
meh, we'll see what happens
