Best bodybuilding belt?

I have problems with my lower back, it was operated few years ago and i have hurted it little few times. I dont do deadlifts anymore, at least not for long time. What kind bodybuilding belt would best if comfort and support is needed? I have samekind Ocelot/Valeo that Dorian had on his Blood and Guts video, it is comfort, but i think it doesnt support my back enough. I have little back pain problems when i bench press and in back movements. And no, i dont bench press with my arse off from bench lol.

Would Cardillo's leather belt be good? At least many pro's use it

swine mwd belts are what i've had the best of luck with. All of the powerlifters at my gym (Gold's Sacramento) swear by this belt.

SLDLs is exactly what helps out my lower back, I got a leather belt but alot of people like the artificial fiber stuff now.

I personally beleive that to help your lower back overcome the surgery you need to strengthen it. Belt use for normal range exercises is a crutch and will hamper back adaptation to the load its given. I personally dont use a belt and wont for anything but 1-2 rep max lifts.

agreed, I have some fairly cheap pretty wide/thick leather belt that I use on heavy deadlifts/squats but I only use it when I really need it. I learned this the hard way thought sort of becoming dependant on straps.

Your abs, lower back and torso.. You shouldn't use a belt unless you are going VERY heavy.

Agreed...

I started out with a Valeo belt back in high school.

Im getting ready to buy a new belt. Have yet to decide which kind.

Any suggestions?

My thoughts exactly. I only use mine durring heavy squats. Industries did studies when wearing back supports was a hot new trend several years ago. They found that your back becomes reliant on the support & you end up with injuries durring normal activities because of it. I also read an article in Flex (can't remember how long ago) where they did a study with bodybuilders & there weren't any fewer back injuries to those who wore belts. The only difference was that the ones using the belts had a much weaker backat the end of the study.
