Bench Shirt

spatts

High End Bro
Platinum
Got it.

Can't get my head through it.

Arm only goes to about 3 inches above wrist.

Sending back.

Spatts,

What kind of bench shirt is it?

Titan Fury?

I heard a lot of reports of Fury shirts being way to small.

what fit did you get? competition?

I know that Pete(the titan owner) recommended probably getting 1 or 2 sizes up or something..i'll see if i can find him saying that.

This is as far as she goes:

:lmao:

Yes, it's a fury comp fit. I told them my chest was 40 and bicep was 14...should I have mentioned that my forearms are 12?

it looks like your trying to put it on the wrong way...... try getting your arms in almost all the way, and THAN putitng your head through.. and use some baby powder.

We have not had a women try the shirt. So this is open territory. My first suggestion is that women generally can't use gear as tight as men. In this case, especially because of bust size. I would suggest 1 size up for a woman.

thats quoted from Pete, the owner of titan, on the titan message board

aside from that.. did you give them a flexed arm measurement? or relaxed?

Like I said, I can't put it on any better arms first because the arm doesn't go past my forearm. Kronk even pushed on my back and yanked on the shirt, trying to pull it over my forearm....it's not going anywhere.

This is true. It wouldn't budge. Had it went any farther up it would have cut her arm off!

are you sure you ordered a bench shirt with your correct measurements? are you sure they sent you a bench shirt?

that looks like osh kosh b'gosh.

Spatts, I hate to tell you this but I am pretty sure that that was the right fit. On mine I can only get my arms about that far in. I've found the way to get into them is to put in both arms then put your head thru and then have someone pull it on. It looks like your sleeves are fitted like mine, only problem is mine is supposed to be a meet fit. I think they just sent me a comp fit.

It's probably good you sent it back though, because if it's that tight it will take a ton to lock out.

Good luck with your shirt and let me know if you need help. Later

Well, I hung from the power rack in a variety of angles. Two purple forearms and some veiny hands, THAT THING WENT ON.

*BUT*

I couldn't even get 221 down to a 4 board!

congratulations! now are you still gonna send it back, or are you going to just wait it out til you work it in and get strong enough for it.

DO NOT RETURN IT- PM me for my address and i'll take it off your hands

LOL....I can't decide. I'm not convinced it's right for me. We really couldn't get it ALL the way on, and it took over 20 minutes to get what we did. My arms are locked so tight in front of me, that I can't do an extra wide grip....can barely do wide. Then I can only drop 221 about 1-2 inches. To "break it in" I'd hav to bench 400!

:lmao:

It was a little narrow in the shoulders (understatement). But I think we should try it one more time on ME Day. Try to get the sleeves worked up a few more inches and see if that gives you some room in the shoulders. Considering your LOCKOUT...it might be the right shirt for you after all ;)

Spatts.... if the arms are to tight still... but the rest of the shirt is ok, put a 2.5 or a 5lb plate in the arms and let it sit over night and the see how it is... that is what I had to do and I my shirt was so small that I could in no way get it over my head.... I had to cut the back!

OMG...if I could bench my lockout...my lockout is 403, and it mught just take that much to touch in the shirt.

GREAT IDEA!!

Still waiting to hear Big Okie's review of his shirt. If we can work the arms up a little more it will give her a little more room in the shoulders and then she can get her comp grip. Then we can go from there. Like I said, I think we should try it one more time on Wednesday...if it doesn't work then, then I would think she should send it back.

i really want to get one of these shirts!! first i need to make my triceps out rageously strong... i can only lockout say 215 w/ a 6 -7 inch ROM(just the top part) and i've bencher 195.. so i fear that the titan shirt would be a waste for me

Iron...thanks...got the plates in right now. We'll see. I was going to wet it again tmw, and push them through a lil further.

D, I like to think I have incredibly weak tris. I couldn't train them hard at all the year my shoulder was acting up. So they are lagging behind.

I cannot even believe you got that on at all. From the looks of that pic it looks like you bought that shirt at "Children's GAP"

We'll know on Wednesday....;)

The sleeves are stretching to 14 inches as we speak.

Not that I think you can with that material, but don't overdo it. You can always try to stretch it more if it is still too tight...but you can't go backwards. Of course as tight as that thing was you could stretch it for a week without stretching it "too much".

:lmao:

yeah, that was fun. :)

We crammed a couple of 5lb plates in there, and pushed 'em through as far as we could. Then I discovered that I could twist the sleeves, and force the weight further down. Kinda hard on the hands, but it worked.

Ironmaiden181.... Thank you, thank you!

It worked. The opening is stretched to perfectly go over my elbow while the rest of the sleeve remains tight. Problem is, it's STILL too tight across the chest to even get a middle grip....how to stetch that?

IMHO. Shirt work is the only way to stretch the shirt's chest out. Don't expect substantial results. The shirts were designed to fit the tightest across the chest and any significant stretching would, in effect, just create a shirt "sized up". You're probably better off getting a larger size that compliments your strength levels more accurately. You should be able to get into a "Fury" in less than 2 minutes tops. Good luck and let us know how Wednesday's training goes.

Let the bar and 300lbs do that for you. Don't worry, we will find out exactly how much it takes to touch in that shirt tomorrow.

Glad that it helped..... They are right about the chest.... You'll have to just let the weight do it as you go... It may take a few fittings.... Don't rush the "pops", do it slow!!! Good luck....

Well, today was day two in the Fury. Well, I can tell you that it is definately stretching a little. The first time you do a rep in it when you put it on it will relax down and the chest will go almost flush with your chest. From then on it will be easier, so between sets don't take the shirt off. On the first rep every time I put it on I have to have the spotter move my right hand over and put it in place. After that rep I can do it myself.

You found out what it takes to touch yet?

Hannibal, nope not yet. Will find out Sat after workout. Hopefully 455-475. I know I can smoke 455 if it will touch. I did it again today and it was a joke, off the boards. Hopefully that will touch.

Hannibal, see you Saturday!

Yes, I tried it Wednesday, and couldn't even get mid 200's to touch a 3 board! Ugh... Gonna take some breaking in.

It's going down a lil each time though. The most annoying thing is that the shirt chokes me whn I tuck my shoulder blades under me on the bench. The opening is HUGE, it just happens to pull back right at mid neck when I do that. Need a belt to hold it down.

I am taking a week off from bench work. That lockout last Sunday wreaked some havoc on my forearm, and it needs some rest.

Thanks for your help and concern!
