Basic deadlit question

I did 395x5 last night. I did 395x4 last week because i was using straps. I used chalk last night and felt WAY stronger, felt like i could do 3 more.

Anyway is it ok if i jump to 415 and not 405, my buddy didnt have to repeat 395 like i did and i wanna stay with him, but i dont wanna stall either. Idk if 10lbs is much of a difference to stall anyway. Thanks guys
 
I'd jump up the extra weight after the first rep u should know were ur at... Jmo tho

damn those changes really made a big jump for... I got step my game up, still got u in the bench tho... So don't go changing that up jus yet lol

anyways I don't use straps or chalk an my grips solid... Hmmm wonder if chalk would matter for me??? I'll have to get some video maybe u can look at it n see if I can improve... 1x405 after some working sets is my best :(

lol whats ur bench at? and deadlift? chalk helps me a lot but if ur used to not using it then idk...for a 1rep max id use straps, anything more chalk FTW

take a vid next time you do it! Did u see my vid? did u see my form? i dont know if its the best but i dont give a fuck! better than 99% of people that even do deadlifts, which is like 3 people at my gym lol
 
405 is my best, tomarow is back day tho so ill see what i can do...gym doesnt allow cameras but ill see if i can pull it off with out getin escorted out of there lol
345x1 on my bench....ive also came down in weight im bout 185-190 right now at 18%bf

oh gotcha, i pulled 475 for deadlit thats the most ive done. My bench is at 325x2. i weigh 195. But my shoulders a little fucked up so no bb benching for at least a month! or any chest for that matter lol

its the 2nd gen iphone 3g no video...maybe i need to re read your pimpest phone thread...im sure somebody can tape it, otherwise ill just buy a couple more plates n do em at home
 
I'd say try the 415, you can always repeat 415 or even go back to 405 if you need to. Chalk is one of my favourite performance enhancing substances...can really make a difference on some lifts.
 
Only kind of shrugs I do is power shrugs, so i rely more on straps than chalk on that. I use chalk for any kind of presses, and for a lot of pulling movements too...rows, etc, unless i get so heavy that I just gotta use the straps, but I try not to use the straps until I really need them. I definitely chalked for deadlifts when I competed, but since I don't anymore, I'm thinking of switching from alternate grip to a regular overhand grip and using straps...I dunno.
 
No lol but i do them differentl now. before my shoulders would be behind the bar and i pretty much was trying to "squat" the weight up

Now i have my shoulders over the bar, my hips are a little higher but i keep my back straight still so i guess its almost like a RDL. Anyway here it is, post #190

Yeah I had the same problem I was trying to squat the weight up, and my hips are weaker than my back so it wasn't working. Changed my stance up with closer and straighter legs and it feels much better. Haven't maxed but I think I could get more than before.
 
395 x 5 should equal 460 x 1.
