bad part of bulking

I'm in the same boat with the belly. Started bulking early this year and lost the abs completely. But I'm keeping it up till January.

I figure it's not about what I look like now, but what I'm gonna look like next Summer.

exactly. it's tough seeing yourself gaining in some unwanted areas, but you have to trust in what you are doing and trust in your ability to cut later on and see all that hard work.

Too many people are affraid of gaining a few extra pounds. If anyone knows anything about nutrition and exercise, extra bodyweight can be shed.

People are worrying too much.

Why bulk cut, bulk cut, bulk cut when you can just go on a diet and continuously gain at a lesser rate?

The bulk cut thing made me to 260lbs, then I looked in the mirror and I was really fat (possibly 20-22% bf). Now for over half a year, I have been trying to get leaner. Guess what? I am still around 10-12%.

Wish I hadn't ate so much and listened to everyone on this board. I am not an ectomorph, so this way of life isn't for me. My whole last year has been somewhat of a waste, because I got fat and now I am trying to lose the fat to look somewhat decent. Even my strength gains have suffered in some areas because of this.

Maybe this is just me and it works for you, but no more gaining 20lbs while bulking for me. :) Luckily, lately I see a lot of guys supporting what I am saying, so I can't be that off-base.

Strength matters to me, size matters to me, but I am not gonna kid myself and say I like being fat. I feel uncomfortable in anything over 10%, and my body hated the 260lbs as I couldn't even breath normal. Once I start bulking again, I am just gonna try to keep my bf controllable to be safe. :)

I sweat more easily now that I weight a lot more. It sucks, since it's 104 in Texas when I drive home from work I get swamp ass even though it's only like a 15 minute commute.

That just sounds sick man.

As far as the bulking goes. I agree with louden, but it really depends on your body type. I dont think I would ever bulk to 20% bf. It all depends on you as an individual!

Yea, I did go a bit too far with the 20%+, but I had through my bodyfat was only 15%. :(

From now on my bulking is gonna be simple:

20XBW in calories
2XBW in protein grams
1XBW in carbs
Rest in Fat.

I usually don't believe in such a high protein diet, but I think it is necessary when I drop the carbs so low.

I'll say this again. . most people are ignorant when it comes to nutrition. Thats why they end up with outrageous bodyfat percentages.

Like I said. . you must learn to manipulate your metabolism.

Well, what bodyfat do you bulk to?

Then, what bodyfat do you cut to?

How long do you get to enjoy being at your lowest bodyfat?
