cboogsrun and tamo are both right, rentention is down, enlistment is down, bonus's are up, and the military is cramming re-enlistment down our throughts. i am not trying to flame but i don't know why people who are not enlisted like to argue with active duty soldiers, i live it.

Yes cboog is right. Heretic was right about the surge of enlistment after 9/11 but that stopped I beleive a year later. On eof the reasons we are so behind is due to CLinton deactivating, and downsizing the forces. We are in two theatres at once, and are being worked like dogs.

I got a buddy who just got commissioned, he's getting assigned to 82nd and he meets up with his guys in theatre in Iraq. He's suppose to be a 19kilo but he was previously enlisted as 11mike so they figured fuck him put him on a rope and send his ass to Iraq. He still has Ranger school, air assault, airborne, and then he goes to Iraq. It's crazy shit. He's going to be one tired mofo thats for sure.

Hell yeah they say it takes your body about 7 months to get back to normal after Ranger wschool. It is some intense shit. My hat is off to your buddy

absolutely not!!!!! Then you wouldn't join. They want your ass to join, they're going to kiss your ass. Even if you told them, they would tell you never tell anyone and they don't write it down. I worked at a recruiting station for work study in high school. Recruiters have a quota they have to meet other wise their quarterly review will be shitty. There is a few people like jelfa who have no fucking idea what they are talking about. You have to do some stupid shit to get tested. They have to single you out. If they do single you out and you test neg. then you could file an E/O report and they'd get hemmed up. I've seen 1 dude get tested. He kicked the shit out of a private is the only reason why they tested him.

this is absolutly correct...ive met a few recruiter in my day while i have been in...their quota is extremly stressed by their command or NCOIC....if he wants 1 or two people per month you're going to get an ass chewing....if you dont speak to every person you walk by while your on duty..they give you shit...its lose lose situation for recruiter...thats why they dont give you as much info as you wished they did when you signed up.

Sorry to bust your bubble. Even though some of what you say is correct you are way off about the enlistment standards. Every Military service except for the National Guard is and will keep on meeting their quotas. After 9/11 there was a huge surge in enlistments that is still going on today. Nobody except for a few Dem politicians (and they only did that to fool ignorant people like yourself into voting for them because they thought if a Draft were mentioned some people would assume it was the Repubs mentioning it) and a few left wing nuts are talking about a draft. A draft will NOT happen in the next 50yrs. So, my friend, you are talking aout of your ass as much as the other guy.

Haha... I've been in for almost 3 1/2 yrs, and been deployed 10 months now. THAT is the time to juice. I've seen some guys come out of nowhere and get huge without a second glance. Everybody knows, nobody cares. We've got almost 1/3 a company on shit they got from Iraqi Army guys. No thanks. And about retention, the army is DEFINITELY not meeting their standards. I'm getting out in just over 7 months and they are cramming reenlistment down our throats.

BABOOMM....experiance people....listen to the people that are in and know what they are saying.....this is all very true...i get out in six months and all i hear is reenlist this, reenlist that.....see ya is what i say!
