As reported on Court TV

The store clerk should be charged with nothing more than selling alcohol to someone "underage."

The kid should be charged with second degree murder.

In addition, the 21 year old drinking age is ridiculous. Anyone who wants to drink will drink. It just keeps responsible people from doing so whenever they please.

I think I'm more qualified to consume alcohol than a 35 year old alcoholic wifebeater ex-con wearing smelly clothes, but he's 35 and I'm only almost 20 so I guess I must be wrong.

Yeah I know all about that...I just turned 21 in April...I feel my years of drinking starting at 13 prepared me alot more for being 21 then many of my fellow students. I used to drink WAY too much, no law ever stopped me from drinking.

Anyone under 21 who can't excersise their full legal rights shouldn't have to pay taxes

If not for the act of the boy's mother (i.e. giving birth to him) ----> then no death.

Maybe we should charge her too?

Ridiculous.

Clerk - selling alcohol to someone under 21

Boy - second degree murder

Any other charges would be unfair.

Right on Warik! Damn that sounded so 80's. Anyway, had the kid been 21, same outcome. He's the dumbshit that decided to do it. This country is fucked. It makes me sick.

My ex-girlfriend lost her 20 year-old brother when the driver of the car he was in lost control. The driver, also underage, survived unscathed and was drunk.
The family decided to go after the liquor store that sold the beer.

The thing is this: they need to press criminal charges and have the charges stick in order to file a civil suit against the liquor stores' insurance company if they want to see money.

It's the old 'deep pockets' rule about sueing. nYou don't go after the kid responsible, you find an insurance company and get a settlement.

As for my ex-girlfriends family, they wanted $300K and were offered $100K and I don't know how it ended.
All I remember is how good she was at sucking dick.
...a tongue like velvet...

This is the stupidest statement I've heard all day.

The under-21 kid was OF SOUND MIND when he bought
the alcohol.

The store Clerk had NO DIRECT IMPACT on the decision
of the under-21 kid to buy alcohol.

Sure, he could have asked for ID(assumming the Kid didn't
show a fake ID), but in the long run what would
have it accomplished?

The under-21 Kid would have just gone to another store and
another clerk, and another, and another, until he got
his booze.

All the store clerk can be charged with is negligence. Thats it.
Manslaughter? This is LAUGHABLE. Was he driving
the car? Is he telepathic by some miracle and commanded
the Kid to drive?

Give me a break.

Bet you its the kids family looking for retribution.

And the pitiful part is that they'll probably win.
And another life gets flushed down the toilet
unnecessarily.

Godspeed
