Try 75's.
Nelson posted this last wk or so.
Use a weight that you can get 75reps out of with as many sets as you need but only taking 10sec breaks between each set.
ex.

Set 1 30reps
10sec break
Set 2 15reps
10sec break
Set3 9reps...... and so on until reaching 75 reps.

I just started this, trying to switch things up a bit because I also have trouble getting my calves to grow.

I seen that.... Ive tried everything else. Why not this?! This shit is gonna hurt like hell !!

I've found best results when using real heavy weight and when you get to failure, just do static holds...just the pressure on the muscle should shock it to grow...try doing barbell calf raises in the smith machine...

arnold claimed he had bad calves until he cut the leg out of his pants and began training them aggressively.

Some people have a really hard time getting them larger...

yours are hot. :qt:

Arnold really had it nailed when he came up with the idea of not hiding his calves anymore. It really forced him to work on them, or feel self conscious all the time.

So you mean he trained them heavy, and progressivly, switching his routine from time to time. Wow - let the revolution begin. Sorry, but the oldies did it w/ heavy weights and progression. He does say patience in that article at least once...

I did like how he equated each calfs ability to hold your entire BW easily to how much you should be calf pressing.

I started doing this about 4 weeks ago. It might just be mental, but they seem slightly larger/fuller. Can't walk for about 4 days either.

I just started last wk. I've been doing 5 sets of 75's/wk.

I did something similar aim was to get between 75-100 reps. Tried to do it twice a week. It works. Mine have gone from 15.25 to 17.25 in about a year. You got to go heavy as shit and you will be limping when done. I alternated calf exercises.

That's good to hear, maybe there is hope after all.

Is that all your doing for calves? I think I do too many exercises for em when really I should concentrate on one. Like seated calf raises.

I hate to brake it to everyone (and I know I'm going to get flammed by everyone) but Arnold had calve implants. Just cant find the article where I read it but its true.

Arnold's been accused of having implants but I think that's unliekely since that procedure wasn't really around back then. I think he just never trained them and once he realized they sucked compared to the competition he went ballistic, and of course, those amazing genetics kicked into place.

I made progress on the 4 minute calf routine once a week and so has everyone I know who's used it. It's available in "The Bodybuilding Truth" but can be dowmloaded for free here: www.proteinfactory.com

Of course, gains will only go so far (my calves still suck) but it'll give you that little extra once you've tapped out all other forms of training them.

Even while on gear, lagging bodyparts will still lag, but I discovered the routine after I stopped juicing. I'd be curious to see the results while "on."

I am definately trying this routine today. Do it 2 times a week. What would be a good forearm routine? Forearms and calves are my bodies enemy right now.

I highly doubt that, I'd hate to think that Arnold would stoop to such a level.
Knowing the way he was back then (cocky and arrogant) I don't think that his pride would let him. I'm not even sure that procedure was available at that time.

Dont believe everything you read. Im not necessarilly doubting you cuz I dont know 100% sure he did or not. But back in those days calve implants seem highly doubtful.

Yeap. Or do one calf at a time. I do that on the sitting calf machine cause you can't put enough plates on it to work both really well. I like the leg press for calves also.
