Arms

Out of everything my arms are the hardest part to train. I'm not even big[5'7" 140], and my arms can be considered muscly by average people but compared to loads of guys theyre small. Anyways, I cant seem to get that sore feeling when you know youre making progress. I worked them out about 2 weeks ago and they were sore for days and I couldnt even lift them without it hurting, so I know the feeling.

Yesterday I picked up 40 lb barbells and did about 20 hammer curls with them correctly, then did 2 sets with 25 lbs until the pain became so intense I stopped. Today I feel nothing. I'm just looking for advice on how to get bigger arms. I can keep progressing with every other body part except the arms. I dont understand it.

How often are you directly attacking your biceps and triceps? You may be overtraining, or you form may be shitty, utilizing back, shoulders and chest to get the weight up.

Mine were the same way, I would always feel my biceps workout more in my shoulders than my biceps. I started doing really heavy back work outs (lat pulls, pull ups, etc.) and on bicep days have started doing lighter concentrated movements. Mine have responded well over the last couple of weeks to this work. Might be worth a try.

Concentrate on core exercises like deads squats and bench. Believe it or not when you gradually build your strength up to go heavy on these, your arms will grow.

+1... look at some of the posts by big guys like Scotsman, DaveTSI, powerbuilder etc. They are big and rarely do curls and such. The whole body will grow with big compound lifts, big clean eating, and plenty of sleep.

ur body grows in proportion, big squats , big bench, big deads, big rows , will mean big arms

your body does NOT grow in proportion!

Thanks alcatraz, I didn't realize this.

Towards the end I usually begin to arch my back a little, but my form overall isnt bad and isnt the problem. I was curious because my arms burn and by the time I'm done theyre usually numb, and my forearms are fatigued for the rest of the day/night.
