Are your friends younger or older than you?

I'm sure this answer has alot of variables.

for instance, i'm sure people in their 30's who are still single probably have alot of friends who are married and have kids and probably dont hang out with them as much. so they gravitate towards a younger crowd

me personally...i've always been the youngin of the group. Especially friends at pretty much every job i've ever had. and now even people i meet when i go out (or through other friends). I kinda like it though, especially when no one thinks im that young. a majority of my friends are close to 30 or a little above

Most of my really close friends from childhood are obviously the same age, but after high school i hung out with alot of older people. just more fun, mature and "together" i guess. i can't really say i've lived the life of a person in their early 20's, either

as i get older i'm sure that will change

As you get older - your friends, same as you age, for some reason start despising and being jealous of younger people (insecurity, mid-life crisis, old fart syndrome you take a shot). And thus they only hang around similar or older people.

So you're stuck with either hanging around boring old losers now, or hang around younger more energetic more positive people. Therein lies the dilemna.

Now I understand why older fogies liked hanging around me when I was a energetic eager to learn teenager. Their own types were boring and arrogant and given up on life - why on earth would you want to hang around them?!

because of your extreme wisdom I would imagine you only fit in with the old wise sage crowd.

thats me.

my younger friends or ones the same age always tend to say/do stupid shit and be a negative influence on me.

the exception are a few of my frat brothers from my pledge class. theres 2-3 of them that really have their shit together ( no pun intended ) and still party like rockstars. my childhood friends are my childhood friends but i still distance myself because they dont have it together either. easy to get wrapped up in a friend's lifestyle and mentality if you're around them enough

works both ways though. when i hang out with older people i'm more motivated to succeed...because they all own homes, have a nice car, good job etc.

I like to look at the younger crowd, reminds me of my own good times at their age not much talk necessary. Oddly enough I'm not a big talker in crowds or groups or friends - people usually come to me to talk about something specific.

So yeah, I'm a voyeur even in discussion.

Wow, i just realized something really fubar about myself.

:worried:

sage goes well with chicken
