A quick question...
When I raise my knee to my chest, then bring my legs straight again, there is a loud "klunk" in my lower back/pelvis region. WTF is it? My back hurts like hell on both sides. It is very bad if I am doing double leg raises for low abs. Each time I lower my legs to the ground my back will "klunk" Help!!!!!Thanks

it's probably your bone rubbing against the cartilage in your lower back, I have that problem in my shoulder (I'm not an expert, but that would be my guess).

I have the same damn problem!! The exact same problems that you mentioned.
It's a bitch too!! The muscles in my lower back is almost constently hurting.
I would be interested in any info about this too.

Well...I have the same damn problem as well. Wow thought i was the only one that had this shit. Mine is only on my right side. yes, pain on the right with clicking sound when lowering the right leg. I went to the doc. The d**k told me advil. went to chiro. and didn't work. The only thing that helps is professional muscle therapy.
He said it was probably the joint between the spin and hips. With the outter hip muscle tence. He relaxed it but couldn't get it to fully go.

I would like more info.

There could be multiple causes, including a bulging disc during this excersise, that then impinges upon a nerve root causing the associated pain. Normally if this were the case the pain would not be BI-lateral, rather on one side of the spine or the other.

Alternatively it maybe the interface between both hips and your pelvis, you could be creating a slight dislocation of the hips and thus the pop, I only mention this because it happens to me when I ski. I am an expert skier but can not snowplow because my hips will “pop” out.

I’m not knowledgeable of chiropractic medicine and would recommend that you see and orthopedic surgeon.

Like I said in the PM, yes seek advice from a chiro.
Ortho or neuro surgeons' job/business is to make money cutting you and prescribing tests, meds, therapy, etc.

I know from first-hand experience... impinged/broken/ruptured/bulging discs/vertebrae..
C1 and C2 were broke, C5 and C 6 have been so-called ruptured (impinged) and all the surgeons said was, "surgery is the only thing that will every correct this." My left arm was dead, numb, falling asleep often, no stregth, weak pulse, basically useless and scary...Fuck cutting me open with no known result....my chiro had my left arm functioning with days, 100% within a couple months.
I don't see Drs way up where society puts them. Like american football, I have lost respect for them.

I never understood the relevance or importance of chiropractic until I began seeing a chiropractor a few years back.

What he has done to keep my back strait and my shoulders level and my back painfree has astounded me. I began with slight scoliosis but now my back is straiter than most. I'm not sure what's wrong with your back but I would like to stress the major benefits of Chriopractic. CHiropractors can do wonders and cure many symptoms without the use of medicine (god knows we put enough chemicals in our bodies already). I am now thinking of going into Chiropractic myself due to the enormous benefits I have seen.

::This has been a paid advertisement for the Chiropractic Institute of America::

But seriously, first check with a doc to make sure its nothing extremely serious, and get the name of a good chiropractor or ask to be referred to one... they can usually set you on the track to correcting problems that aren't terribly serious and save you some pain and surgery later on.
