anyone tear a muscle before?

i think i may have a muscle tear where my shoulder and chest meet. what can i expect? how long for healing? how can you tell? i have some brusing but it is more on my bicep but my chest is sore. any help will be appreciated. thanks

acroyer, do you have also have some swelling there? Is the pain sharp like from the stabbing with a knife?

Ice it VERY heavily and go to the doctor straight away. If it is even a very slight of a tear you can hurt it very much more by not taking proper care of it immediately. I made a slight tear of my left bicep some years ago. It needed 6 weeks of no training at all. Even now some years later i get sometimes a bit of sharp pain in it if i do not warm it up quite a lot before my heavy back and bi sets.

BTW, did this happen from benching?

yes it happened when beching and was taking d-bol before hand as well. yes the pain is sharp. i will go to the docotrs immediatley then

Good idea. Remember to ice it for so long as you can tolerate the cold. Keep it iced until you are at the doctor.

Good Luck. :D :D Let us know what happens with this. This is something that has either happened or will happen to many of us.

Hey Bro,
if the bruising is on your bicep but you feel pain in your chest it's because you have either damaged or torn the pec major...your pec major attaches into the bicipital groove...it sounds like you have definitely done some tendon damage in the bicipital groove. Your pec minor attaches to the coracoid coming off your scapula on the anterior side...like the other guys said get to your doc right away...don't fuck around!!

Bouncer,
What's up bro? Shit, George took that thing off ages ago....I used to have it in my quote shit down at the bottom of my posts and I haven't been on here in a long time so I still don't have enough posts to put up an avatar...damn that's sad considering some guys are on here for a month and already have 3,000 posts with a crazy shit avatar. Thanks for remembering me. I hope to be on a lot more again and actually start being more consistent with my lifting again as well...a lot of stuff has been going on in the last 6 months.
