He plays up a persona to a certain extent. If you read his column in Muscular Developement you will see who he truly is. Not sure if its a good thing or a bad thing. I will say that after reading his column a few times my view of him is not as bad as it used to be.

There are plain-old leaping assholes in bodybuilding and Lou is one of them. Lou Ferrigno is known to be a scumbag. Young kids can come up to him at a show - ten year olds - and when they ask him to sign a piece of paper he'll tell them, "Twenty dollars." If you see him at a show and ask him if you can take a picture with him, he'll demand twenty dollars. He's charged kids in the single-digit age, eight or nine, for a picture. The way I look at it is this: okay, Lou Ferrigno, you have a right to make a living, but you're a millionaire. You're a millionaire. So when a kid asks you to sign a magazine or a pair of lifting straps and you're gonna try and hit 'em for twenty dollars, I'm sorry, but in my book, you're a piece of shit.

There is so many people passing judgement on this guy and I'm not sure I agree with them. When Greg Valentino went to prison we was unable to use roids anymore. Then we he got out on parole he still wasn't able to use the juice because of drug tests. He lost lots of body mass because of this and it could have ruined his career. Good for him that he had the idea to inject himself with synthol for the sake of keeping a career going. Not because I think its a great idea for a bodybuilder, but because if not, what else would he be doing? Would he be involved in the sport still? At least he is able to still draw some attention to himself and make some money. That's how the man makes his living, by being the "rambling freak." Who can be mad at that? If he didn't do it, he would just be some skinny ass dude that lost much of what he used to have. Or in otherwards, No career, no money. I don't think he's ever done anything else in his life besides be a bodybuileder.
