making gains is not at all about training to failure, i havent used a routine based around training to failure in about 5 years and ive made HUGE gains. stop reading FLEX and MUSCLE & FITNESS

Why would you train to fail? Planned progression will get you better results faster than training to failure every day.
When I go to the gym my goal is not to fail, it is to succeed at getting all my reps at what ever weight I will be lifting that day. If I fail it is not planned, it is because I could not make the lift. Hopefully those days are few and far between.
Failure should never be a goal.
