Mang, we have some nice kayaking up here. Between the puget sound and the san juans, it's purty sweet.mountain muscle said:I really want to build my own wooden sea kayak. may have to make a trip to Seattle to do it.

what time did they let you out of the drunk tank this afternoon?mountain muscle said:Anything involving you is senseless.
Just be happy a woman is paying attention to you and not stalking you.

vixensghost said:Cool! Where do you kayak at? IF I may ask?
wlmcrae said:Wherever I can! I really enjoy the southern Gulf Islands off of Vancouver Island and the West Coast around Tofino is incredible. I almost drown myself in a riptide off Long Beach a couple of years ago - the other guy got to tow me back in after the boat and I went different directions!
The big lakes in northern BC are also a rush in a good wind. Sea kayaks are incredibly stable and can handle quite a heavy sea. 15 foot breakers though - eh, not my thing. I've thought about river kayaking - may pick it up eventually.
taking one tomorrow night. Cant wait. I called Mountain Muscle out on going... but I think he's at bant camp.theoak01 said:definately take a course if you plan to whitewater kayak, you need a bomb proof roll and I also advise taking swift water rescue ,trust me you will need it, too many people get themselves in over their heads and you will use it in your first season on the river
