Anyone experienced with lasix/furosemide?

Thom

Anyone used it for a longer period of time?
I read that patients with high bp use a high dose in the beginning, and then a lower maintenance dose to keep the water running through.
Anyone got any experience? Please share

thanks

Bad idea as it is not a potassium sparing diuretic and you may end up in bad bad shape. Stick to something like spiroloctanone, SP?

I've used lasix, and yes, it's probably too harsh unless you do have high BP or kidney problems and can't get rid of it another way. If you're looking to just drop some water for bloat reduction or a comp., I'd go with aldactone, spironolactone... maybe diazide if you must. Stick to potassium-sparing diuretics though, lasix is dangerous, if you don't take slow-K with it, you can end up stopping your heart.
