any wrong with getting most of my protein from Isopure???

throw in a 1lb steak in there and you got yourself 100g of protein, but drinking isopure is fine

i was addicted to isopure for over a year, four or five packs everyday and was advised to eat more food protein b/c the isolate clears too fast

i honestly see nothing wrong with it. as long as you have frequent protein feedings ever few hours because as you know, the whey protein isolate that makes up isopure clears from the system fast. great protein though. very high in its biological value.

Sure, theres nothing wrong with Isopure......just make sure you don't drink it alone....adding some form of complex carbs will slow down the rate at which your body utilizes it (which is good). Just don't forget the goodies like steak, fish, chicken, cottage cheese, eggs, etc.

i jsut posted a question about soy protein....and while i was reading this i had some thoughts...tell me if you guys agree.

the reason we eat small meals constantly is because we are trying to encourage a constatn release of nutrients....doesnt' it make sense that theoretically the best protein source would be the one that is digested the slowest?

to get back to my experience with soy protein....it's MUCH heavier than any of the others...it's a pretty dense powder that really leaves you feeling full....much more like eating a real meal...my best friend bulked up very impressively on it -really- i would've sworn he was doing some mild steroid. when i took it i found the same thing, but then i quit after guys here scared me about the estrogen activity.

maybe the best thing is the lighter proteins after a workout, and the soy before bed?

I always thought that getting most of your protein from real foods was best, but a friend of mine gets most of his from isopure and it helped him gain more lean muscle. I don't see anything wrong with getting most of your protein from iso, but I'm worried about the lack of nutrients in terms of lesser # of meals, which you also gain from real food.

Since Isopure is ion-exchange whey, it is best after workout, or when your insulin is spiked. Otherwise, it is in and out too fast to do any real good. Granted, you will get benefits from it, but they won't be as good. Just don't drink 4 servings of it alone per day, you won't even come close using half the protein you think you are taking in.
