ahahaha thats cute!

I've read about it. Fundamentally, it's got some fantastic teachings and basic principles. It basically comes down to taking ownership and responsibility for yourself and your daily actions which in turn, means you are fully responsible for all outcomes.

That is why it's looked on with contempt - IMO, people would rather have a god or any external resource to lean on and/or blame than themselves. That and the fact that fucking retarded hollywood retards take it to extremes

Sounds good, KB. I thought I'd get that book to give it a once over.

If it worked for TC...who knows?

They eat placenta's................seriously.

Catholics gather in a room that is supposed to house an invisible being, chant and sing, then eat the body and blood of said invisible being.

created that tradition

Oh, so you don't think it's looked on with contempt because of the scifi mythology that underpins it? Or the money they charge members for enlightenment? Or the junk science they use to lure newbies?

Well sure it is. I also think the biggest issue, as most of these things go, is a WILDLY uneducated and ignorant overall society that LOVES to judge things without having any real knowledge of them. "If it's in People magazine, it's enough for me to judge!"

How many Scientology books have you read/studied? Weird, catholicism does ALL the things you just described yet it's pretty popular...

I wonder what hitler's views be on scientologists?

Well, considering that he died before L. Ron Hubbard made that shit up...

I think Hitler was more into Mme. Blavatsky's Theosophy.

wow you are very well informed.

I laughed today - I noticed this conference I've been at all week is right across the street from the Beverly Hills Church Of Scientology church or whatever they call it. I wonder if that's where tomkat goes?

ya the cheaper version of that is called buddhism.

In one of my classes they played audio tape of hubbard saying they need to turn this thing into a religion for the tax benefits...

yes it seems "silly"" for sure........but placenta's?? doooooodddd?

Scientology is the one and only true religion. The rest of you are going to hell just because you're too cheap to buy the books and win your salvation.

LOL....just be glad she didn't confuse the words "protestant" and "prostitute." I once told my second grad teacher that "everyone in my family is a prostitute." :worried:

it's no more silly than most of the other "socially acceptable" rituals we live with.

not saying I agree or disagree, but I ain't gonna judge without knowing a fuckload about it.
