Tell me all about your car, model/year, what it’s like to drive, maintenance, problems you’ve had, etc.

Plenty of reviews on the ‘net but I’d like some first hand accounts.

Thanks. :)

I have 98 328i and to date I have had no problems but I am fanatical about routine maintenance. I have roughly 120k miles and I have not had any problems with the car and while I say that I also think I was just lucky to get a well put together car.

I have a lot fun driving her, she takes corners well, well powered to merge into highways easily, it's comfortable for long driving (I'm a road warriors at times) and for a small car it has a lot of cabin room.

I love this car there is not a new car on the market that is in my price range that I would want to trade her for. I'll drive her until she costs me too much to maintain or I find another car I like better.

From what I understand though the new 3 series BMW's are different from the previous body style (92-98).

Velvett.

Good going girl. I am always very happy to see a woman take care of her car. Fanatical maintenance will make a car last almost forever and look mint doing it. I drive the preivious generation Nissan 300ZX. The car is a 1990. Runs like new, State inspection pretty much gave it a LEV (low emission vehicle) test result. I actually have poeple asking me if the car is a new model by Nissan, lol!

I was going to say "Velvett has one", but, um, she's already here.

My friend here has a 3-something, 2003. It;s less luxurious then say, a Lexus, but the BMW really seems like a better driving experience.

When i take the Lexus out, I find myself going 110 on the highway ad feeling like 60. The super-luxurious seats allow you to sink right into them and sort of zone out, like driving your living room couch sitting on a rocket.

the BMW is totally different - the seat feels like a stadium seat, and you feel like you're conected with the road. The Lexus glides, the BMW corners and turns. There's some truth to that "ultimate driving machine" stuff.

I have to totally agree with Matt on all of the above. My former boss's Lexus sedan just floated along, no engine noise, nice power, very luxurious easy chair sort of upholstery.

The Lexus is really nice to drive as is the BMW, it's really what sort of feel you prefer while driving.

The main problem you will get with German cars, BMW very much so in this group, is that should they develop a problem it will most likely be an electrical issue. Highly highly complex vehicles to fix when you encounter an electrical malfunction, and the Beamers are only getting more and more complicated with each model year. The usual complaints for BMW's tend to be malfunctioned radio, nav, heating/air functionality, lighting, etc. Electrical.

BMW's are performance oriented, whereas Lexus' on luxury and reliability.

Hi,

I am new to this board and to bodybuilding. I have been reading for weeks and gleaning all kinds of good info. This is my first response to a post. I have been pretty intimidated about asking questions about bodybuilding, so I guess it took my love and passion for my cars to get enough guts to post a reply. I have 2 BMW's, 1 is a 99 2.8 Z3 and the other is a 1973 2002 that I am currently in the process of a complete restoration. The progress on that car is as slow as my progress at building muscle (LOL). Both Auto mechanics and bodybuilding are new to me. I have owned the Z for four years and the 02 for about 3. I have never had any mechanical problems with my Z. I to am fanatical about maintanence. BMW has easily become my favorite German car. Always a blast to drive and a pleasure to own. Are you looking to purchase a BMW?
