ANPB questions

John Berardi - the author of the article you mention - does not recommend peanuts because of the potential for allergic reaction (he believes that even people without severe allergies could suffer minor symptoms, and bascially, that it's just not worth the risk). In general, he feels that one ought to avoid consumption of hyper-allergenic foods like peanuts.

In terms of healthy fats, however, peanuts are an excellent food choice and you should feel fine eating them (unless, obviously, that you know youself to be allergic).

As for mixing with apples.....well if you're going to eat apples anyway, adding them with your ANPB won't make much difference. It's the fructose in apples that people tend to shy away from in the first place.
 
whats worse, the carbs in banans or the fructose in apples, and is there fructose in bananas?

and i thought mixing fats with sugars isnt good which is why i was asking
 
Welllll .... the sugar content of fruit is a touchy subject for a lot of people.

First, yes bananas contain fructose, and I suppose you are better of with an apple vs. a banana in terms of sugar content (especially if the banana is well past ripe). I really wouldn't worry either way in terms of combining it with PB since the impact on insulin from fruit in general is minimal.

What you really want to avoid is combining a simple sugar like sucrose or glucose with source of saturated fat (e.g., think donuts). I personally wouldn't worry about the effects of combining fruit and peanut butter.
