One of the main reasons for anal itching is pin worms. Steroids causing it...hmmm, maybe from the blood vessals breaking in that area.

pin worms and yeast are the main causes of anal itching.
If it were pin worms, you would be scratching like a nut.
Many things cause anal itching but if it lasts more than a few days, it's more than likey yeast or pinworm

I think the bigger issue is irritated skin from frequent wiping , not some parasitic infection.
