Ok, so tis family day yesterday with me and my wee ones and their choice of food and play... They decide on MrGatties so off we go. Get there and the place is packed! Get to the register to order and paying the gal there.... Now, my son fractured his wrist recently and has a splint on his arm that has a metal rod at the bottom of it... he is standing right there by me and puts his hand down on the stainless steel bar right in front of him and there a clank sound. The gal turns to my child and proceeds to go off on him and tell him to keep it the hell down!
Ok, mom mode kinda sets in, I pay the gal... get my plates and cups and then proceed to turn to her and tell her in exact words... " Excuse me miss... I don't appreciate you raising your voice to my child, for one... I am standing here and he didn't do a damn thing wrong, for two... I can correct my own children if and when they do something wrong, for three... do you see that he has a damn cast on his arm and he did not mean to make such a loud noise?
My son was very embarrassed by the way she spoke to him and he actually didn't even know what he did wrong besides stand to the side and rest his arm. He was however very respectful to her even though she screamed at him and told her he was sorry.
Both of my children are very respectful, I'd have it no other way and I know that he never meant to do that at all.
So I tell her what i have to say... she is completely in awe because I guess she didn't think I'd say a word to her beings she was a hell of a lot bigger than me and she was one of the three managers there.
So we eat, play... and on the way out I requested to talk to another manager and put in my complaint that this woman needs not scream at anyone esp children beings this place is designed for CHILDREN.
I may be wrong for addressing the matter, maybe not. But sorry... If im standing right there next to my child and he does something wrong, even if I am preoccupied and just don't see it, INFORM ME! A stranger does NOT need to be correcting my children in that manner.
