Advice needed! Injected my blood into muscle

I hit a blood vessel the other day and pulled out the needle/syrine with a nice gob of blood in it. I didnt know what to do and decided to shoot the whole thing blood and all into another injection spot in my back side. How serious is this? Should I expect an infection? Is it possible I may be infection free and ok after this? please help with some advice.

Dude you'll be fine. Don't worry about it it's your blood. If you're really worried just watch the area for a couple days and you'll see more than likely there will be no problem. It happens and no reason to get all worked up about it. I seriously doubt you'll get an abcess from that.

Like they said, youll be fine!

Afterall its YOUR blood isnt it? Worst case is you get a small infection which will be treated with ANTIBIOTICS! But this is unlikely unless you touched the needle on something before you injected it again, an infection needs bacteria first, and if you kept the needle clean there should not be a problem.

Lmfao.

You will be fine. Its your own blood it happens all the time. You wond get any infections. Next time do the same thing.

its happened to me plenty of times. no real need for worry bro.

Not to jack this post , but why is it then do we aspirate? How big of a concern is it to? I know a guy who doesn't do it, but is that not safe then?

I'll take this on. It's very simple. We CAN handle a few tiny bubbles of air shot into our blood, but too much will rise to your brain and then, well...it's not nice. Thanks! Alan Chiras.

//I'll follow up..

//It takes a LOT of injected air to cause a problem. We shoot 2-3 mls of air iv regularly to check for openings between the atria. I've seen unsuccessful suicide attempts with 60ml of air.

//You aspirate an IM injection not because of air....but because injecting oilbased solution into a vein is a bad idea. It goes to the heart and from there to the lungs, where it froths and produces symptoms similar to a pulmonary embolus....

//Back to the original question: no harm done.
