I think one thing that has been overlooked in the quest for one with ideal BF or whatever is that, IMHO, the most important duty of a Mod in AAS is to stop potential behavior that will get the board shut down.
EF has stayed around where others numerous others have gone by the wayside b/c, while we live in a nation of "free speech" (at least most of us)--it is not an absolute right. What I mean is that it is so very easy to cross the line into the realm that which is not protected speech (in the US --sooner in other countries/later in others)and can be stopped.
EF has the greatest pool of talent b/c those bros who have put in a lot of time in their respective fields of expertise know that they can rely on their comments not coming back to bite them. That means a reasonable effort to determine ones age--and 21 is the magic number not b/c of the US but b/c of other countries as well. The same goes for the couterfiet forum--it's not a source check site--it needs to, by all appearances, serve a legitimate purposes that is defensible (I don't want to debate "defensible" but just trust me it's important even if it does not seem that way). The same goes for those compounds that we just do not discuss--while all gear can be dangerous there is a real reason to avoid talking about some--one dead kid and the board becomes the target the just cannot be defended.
So what I am trying to say, is, having been a mod in another decade, please when you apply pledge to do everything possible to keep this board a safe and secure place to learn etc. If it means telling a kid to go buy Nelson's or George's book--well, that is probably the best advice some can be given. Don't let people encourage insane cycles or think it's okay to go on gear just b/c they are over 21--really, we all know the uses and misuses.
So for the new mods, I just ask that you be what is not always the favorite--the one who smacks down behavior that can cause irreparable harm to the board or a person.
And to to current Mods who do this thankless job--my thanks.
Thanks for reading--if you got this far
