Love their poducts - love their stock more.

They just killed it again for Q3 and their best quarter is Q4 and they have the new iphone coming.

Amazing company!!

love me some apple too!

Don't have any money in stock with them, but only because I don't fuck around with that shit.

So far I have
Ipod
Imac
macbook
Ipad
Iphone

I almost bought an Ipad2 but I think I will wait for the Ipad3 since the real difference between the 1 & 2 I don't much give a shit about.

I love my iMac though, I don't use it as much any more, but I've had it about a year and a half now and it's still as fast as it was day 1. Has never gave me 1 problem, or error or anything.

I bought an iPad2 for my Mom last weekend. It is actually quite nice and may be worth the upgrade. Facetime plus thinner and lighter. I liked it.

I don't give a shit about facetime, and the weight of the original ipad isn't an issue because i'm not a pussy or old, or in your case, both.

I've always be afraid of their stock being overpriced, but obviously that isn't the case!

I have

iPad 2
iMac
2 iphone 32 gig
2 iPod touches
Mac air
Apple TV

Others

Inicelife
ISTFU
Ihateu

2 Mac airs
1 iPad
2 Mac pros (1 older)
1 MacBook pro (older)
4 iPhones (2 older)
2 time capsules
1 iPod
2 nanos

Not sure about kids music players ATM

Just bought the 27" iMac and love it, just need to get out of the PC mindframe I've been stuck in for so long.

I love Apple, I have the following and I have no issues ever with virus and the speed is unmatched.
Iphone
Ipod
Macbook Pro

Net income at $7.31B, EPS at $7.79 with analysts at $5.82. Revs at $28.6B, with analysts at $24.8B. Nice beat for Jobs. Shares up 5% after hours.

It's a great tech stock to own for long-term investors and large-cap portfolios, but not something I'd personally mess with. Some major options action, but pretty high IV (especially around earnings given their history) and a bit too efficiently priced for small players. Like GOOG, they make a great synthetic position.

That's what I got...

Did you also upgrade the processors and graphics cards and all that jazz?

Hell yes, I'm always blown away at the clarity of the graphics and speed of the computer. I also love how it doesn't take 15min to start up; I usually just keep it on sleep mode anyways. How easy is it to make a picture slideshow with the pre existing software?

Largest cap company in the world - trading less than 13 times earnings - has about $60/ share cash on the balance sheet. Even though it is the largest company in the world, has super earnings growth. Will close tomorrow around $400 - my avg cost is $140.

I>u , will pass on your advice

Piece of cake.

I hardly ever shut mine down either. Maybe like once every couple months. Rest of the time the hard drive just sleeps. Like I said earlier I have had mine 1.5 years now and it's still as fast as it was out of the box.

Takes a bit to get used to them, but once you do there is no going back.

Outted as AAPL flame and Jobs fanboi. Everyone knows XOM has the largest market cap in the world.:D

If your cost is $140, you'd be wise to sell some covered calls and lock in the IV spike. ATM calls expiring in less than 48 hours are >$1k each as of market close today.

Expect August 400s to be going for around $1-1.5k+ tomorrow. That's a fucking nice premium, man. If you have the option of either A) selling tomorrow for over $415, or B) pocketing $1.5k and keeping the underlying, you should really think about it.

Not a chance. Let's put a 1M karma bet on it right here :D

They broke out of their six month pattern, but it'll retrace to close tomorrow's gap within a month or two. I don't follow the company, but nobody out there would find $600 a realistic 1-year price for any number of reasons (competition, Jobs' health, etc.)

Don't be a gambler, sell the volativity and take the free money.

why don't stocks fuggin split anymore...fuck.

LULU, Six Flags, Herbalife, Lear, Potash all recently split.

But yeah, not as common as it used to be. Might have something to do with the whole global recession. That, and it was overdone during the tech bubble.

I will take that bet. You take a high growth company (revenue up 82% last year) and it should be trading at 20x earnings. That puts you close to $600 there - add in they will have close to $100/share in cash by the end of the year.

Oh...revenue in China was up 600%. Hmmmm...yeah I will bet you
1 million k - no problem that in a years time this stock hits $600.

The problem with buying apple stock is it is very expensive per share and you will not make any big money on it unless you put in a shitload.

Apple in china is an upside wildcard. Their products in china are the biggest status symbol I've ever seen anytime in the world. It's freaky.

really all over asia. Everytime a Thai gets an iPad they are posting a picture on FB.

China though - as I keep saying, subtract the population of the US from China and you still have 1 billion Chinese.

The number I heard this morning was there are 400 million cell phone users in China but only 75 million 3G. Next year they expect to have 350 million in 3G alone. Lot a smart phones going to be sold.. knock-offs too.

You're on! *marks thread*

Their stock didn't do much today at all. Looks like everything was already priced in. Everyone must've expected they'd beat.

look at me i have money!@#!@#

Dude, poors always have the newest trendy gadget and shit. I never understood that. They spend they're money on perceived status symbols and then bitch about not having any food for they're kids.

Sometimes I wish we had forced labor camps for these people.

so sweet, brought a tear to my eye.

lol @ AAPL @ 600. anything's possible. come to think of it, if there comes a day when the dollar can only buy 1/10th of a loaf of plain ol' white bread, then it's entirely possible that it will also only buy 1/600th of an AAPL share.

u trade options or jus sayin?

on two measly teachers salaries?

sound investments, both were head of their departments, and both were super frugal mofos.
they invested well in the 80s when times were good, and paid their house off 20 yrs ago.
not buying jetskis, boats, that sorta thing...they are set up real good and so will i with the investments they have made for me

can you give us an approximation of how much their estate is worth, bino?

you may round to the nearest thousand dollars, thanks.

It's not like one needs $10M in startup capital to buy a call or something. There exist many extremely conservative options plays for older investordoods.

Yeah, thanks for quoting that poast, bastard. August 400s barely hit $600, lol. (Taking short-term gambles on positions that major funds are involved with is pretty lose-lose.)

i know u dont need much capital to trade options, the leverage u get is amazing but i just dont know many people that do it and i wonder why... if had enough capital to actually purchase underlying stock if i got raped on the options i would be all over it, i lost 10 g's trading options only and gave up, wish i could pick someone's brain that has been successful trading options without purchasing stock

Buying long options is usually an extremely speculative move, and thus fails more often than not.

There's a lot of permutations one can do with options (spreads, synthetics, etc.), but such accounts can easily leave one naked and thus usually take a decent net worth and liquidity. It's also highly technical, and most can't be done by hand and take expensive programs.

See, e.g., Greeks (finance) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
