because they're wanna bee hackers. They simply divert a lot of traffic to the site (thereby making them more money with google ads) and then claim they 'took the site down'.

Once the DoS is over, site's backup. Nothign was accomplished. WAnnabe a real hacker? Steal the domain name and register it to yourself.
