8 Weeks Out from the MuscleMania Canada Show

NL - dude you are HYUGE on top! You're 12 lb lighter so you must be cutting up nicely! Can hardly wait to see the show pix! Good luck w/ your competition!

Thanks ladies, yes i know my legs are behind. Mainly in conditioning, but by next year i hope to have that problem taken care of. This is my 1st time getting into contest shape, so it will be interesting to see what my legs will look like on stage when i drop my water weight..

Here are some more pics, taken at the gym. I have a pump in these pics as opposed to the pics taken outside when im pretty flat...

Also would just like to say whats up to everyone here as i am new to this forum..

Thanks tinytank, just for ref what is C+C?

Damn buddy you look good!! Those bi's and back are insane! very good job! About your legs, definitely you need more definition but they look good in size IMO. Maybe not big enough for a comp but for look I prefer that old school size.

Congrats!!

Damn you look twice the size of me and we are same height and I weigh 180 at around 10% right now what gives I dont get it?
well i was going to ask how tall you were, but then i see that you said we are the same hieght. Most likely its genetics.. someone who has fuller muscle bellies will look bigger then a person who weighs the same as they do, that has smaller muscle bellies etc.. Your physique looks good though in your pic bro so keep it up!

I think you have a much smaller waist and bigger back for sure, you have a sick V-taper wich I dont have as nice as yours. What size is your waist?Mine is 31-32.I bet yours is smaller.Your weight seems to be perfectly proportioned in the right places making you a lot bigger than me even though we have same stats on the pictures.Great job bro and definetly amazing physique.

Thanks bro, my waist right now on a empty stomach is 28''.. That's about as small as i think it will get now, but will see come time of when i drop my water. Then it might get down to 27.5''...

seen your pics at MM. Good luck in the show.

Hey bro, yeh i could only imagen what it would be like to be a tall bber. Im talking about bber's that are 6foot+ . The ideal hieght for a bber is anywhere from 5'8-5'11, then you have guys like me who are 5'6-5'7 who can still do well, but can get over looked alot by the judges cause we are shorter.. Yes it is a bit easier for shorter bbers to pack on the size. Looks like you have great back development from what i can see, so keep it up bro! It may take you alittle more time to get to the size you want, but it will come in due time..

thanks bro, but my back is probably my weak point and i have already started to change my workouts for it ( i got high lats etc) . i got a great 2nd stack comin up so loook out. i hope u hang out on here more often so i can talk with u about what u do.
even tho i am a taller guy i am still going to try to achieve the most i can with my time and money even tho i dont intend to go further , but just for fun. you on the other hand have great genetics and time, i wish the best for you , keep us updated !

Thanks bro, a good exercise for people who have high lats. Is reverse grip barbell rows, along with deadlifts as well. And i will make sure to keep you all updated, this morning i weighed 175lbs.. Still 3 weeks 4 days to go till the show. Im getting kind of nervous since its my 1st show, and it such a big show!. Being aird on TSN and ESPN. So there's even more pressure.. I do my best, will most likely come in as a middlewieght..

Ok here's one pic of me taken back on Aug 22nd so that would be at about 6 weeks out.. I was posing my legs wrong in this, plus the shade is blocking the cuts on my legs.. My glutes are tighter now and legs look better then they do in this pic.. Again these pics taken outside are taken after my cardio session when im depleted and flat..

very solid physique bro, especially for 23 years old, damn...
I thought you looked a little soft in the first pics for 8 weeks(my 8 week out pics are posted here too, and my trainer thought i was still soft for 8 weeks), but the pics with the pump make you look a lot harder

Thanks bro, you look great, good flow and symmetry to your physique.. Yeh my 8 week out pics, and even my 6 week out pics. Im soft in them, Its my 1st time getting ready for a show, so its more trail and error i guess. I just look forward to next year.. Another mistake i made was getting way to fat in the offseason. I was up to 240lbs, so you can see how much weight i had to lose! And that's why even at 8 weeks out i was still behind in my diet... It will be down to the wire for me trying to get in the best condition i can with the time left that i have..

What do you think is a good offseason weight for guys our size to bulk?

It looks like you pretty much should come in on time, you look around where I did at 8 weeks last time, and I ended up coming in leaner than anyone else. I actually have a top trainer this time, and she has different standards though.
I was in the same boat too, started at 260lbs, down to 212lbs now, and still not sure how much I have left to go. Next time it'll be nice having a trainer design my offseason diet too so I dont have to drop so much weight next time.
How long did it take you to drop from 240lbs to where you are at now?

Well i want to compete at around 185lbs next year if possible. So that would mean i would maybe get 15-20lbs heavier then my contest weight. So i would get up to around 205lbs this time.. Reason being is that my sponsor, wants me to stay pretty lean year round so i am available for more photo shoots etc.... I had to pass up so many opportunities with photo/fitness model shoots. Because i was way to fat last offseason.. This way if i only get 15lbs or so heavier, i can drop that weight pretty quick and get ready for a shoot etc.. Plus then it wont be so hard when it comes to my next contest prep.. On average you would want to get anywhere from 15-30lbs heavier then your contest weight for offseason.. Going up past 40-60lbs is just not necessary. I mean u are just basically getting over weight and fat when u get 40-60lbs over your contest weight..

Well i started dieting down for this show back in March, so its been about 7 months or 28 weeks! Crazy shit i never am going to do that again, from now on im only staying around 15-20lbs above contest weight..

Yeah bro I have some more pictures here they are.I think mainly the difference in our builds is that I have a wider waist bone structure and smaller back and you have a much better V-taper.But check these. The last one is actually from a modeling shoot.

Ok well from what i can see in the small pics, is that in order to give the illusion to make your waist look smaller. You will have to broaden your shoulder up alot, so focus alot of your training for your delts on infront and behind the neck shoulder presses.. side rasies etc...

top knotch bro. good to go at age 23. how are your legs ? only one shot on the side chest. they looked like you had good hams.

Thanks again for all of your support it truly helped.. I got 2nd place in my 1st show.. Although the fans, and every single competitor back stage thought i should have gotten 1st... Yeh my hams and glutes were not as tight as the guy who placed 1st, but my symmetry, muscularity, vascularity, and thickness, destroyed this guy.. People we shocked that he took 1st over me, but oh well, i take it with grain of salt and move on to the next show in Hollywood CA the World Championships.. Where i will be way more conditioned.. I have some pics from the hotel room etc.. and some from the TSN/photo shoot at harbor in downtown Toronto.. Had a great time, all the competitors were great, and everyone helped each other out back stage.. I loved being on stage it felt right, it felt like that's where i was meant to be.. Some people compete and they don't like it, well i loved it! and can't wait to step back on stage again in Nov..

More pics from the hotel room Sat morning 10/01/05 empty stomach.. I came onstage around 170lbs maybe lighter... If you want to see more pics from the competition you can go to www.musclemania.com and click on the gallery link and then it will be under MuscleManaia Canada 2005. The lighting was terrible so it really does not show what the competitors really looked like onstage at all, if you click on the media link u will get a better idea of what we looked like..
Peace
