yeah anyone into metal should check them out. theyve been broken up for quite sometime now and most of the x-members are now in misery signals (who are equally amazing). i fucking love this band.

What the hell? Where the hell did this thread come from?

Jhazmyne's Lullabye is awesome. Back when metalcore was worth a shit. Their demo was tits too.

Let's make out or something.

and i thought i was the only one into this kind of shit on this board. not to knock anyone, but most people that talk about "metal" on this board talk about godsmack or disturbed. i love old underground metalcore shit and swedish death too. soilwork is one of my favsso i s overcast. yeah lets def make out.

Never heard of them, but im willing to give them a try cos Hillmachine digs metal. Are there any bands that sound similar to them so i can get an idea of what im getting?

OVERCAST! People should be issued Fight Ambition to Kill if they're going to get into metalcore.

On Jhazmyne's Lullabye, the vocals are deep husky roar. They do the typical switch between heavy breaks and great melodic sections, but they do it so well and it sounds effortless. They'll transition into a chugging breakdown and then right into a subtley technical run (read: not masturbatory) and they'll do it all with a hint of melody. They were really pushing the bounds of melodic hardcore along with .Hopesfall., Skycamefalling, and the like. They're pretty creative with using harmonics, something the guys would expand upon in Misery Signals.

They really were ahead of their time especially when you hear the influence they had on a lot of bands after them (This Runs Through, Enlow, A Jealousy Issue, etc.).

I uploaded a track for you:

yeah bro go pick up misery signals "of malice and the magnum heart". its almost like controlled spaz metal with melodies that give me goosebumps and amazing changeups all over the place. a lot of lists on the internet gave it best metal album of the year of 2004. buy it or go on their site and check out "the year summer ended in june" and my personal favorite "five years". they may take a few listens to get used to but my god once you get into them they are as addicting as crack. and if you can order 7 angels off the internet somewhere youll feel the same way about them.

amazing album and brilliant guitarwork in my opinion. im not sure what those guys are doing in seemless with the grunge shit. i mean, its cool, but christ they could write some incredible metalcore.
