40 yr. old wrestler beats the shit out of Ortiz

Randy beat Tito fair and square.

The fight was 5 rounds, it went the distance and Randy got the decision.

Tito looked like shit the whole fight. He obviously doesn't do enough ground work (grappling) to know how to control being on the bottom. (No fucking gay remarks from you HOMO's).

6 (count them, SIX) takedowns from Randy on Tito. Isn't Tito supposed to be a "junior champion" wrestler?

Junior is right about the fight he put up.

Tito got spanked, literally.

The fight went all 5 rounds, Randy dominating them all. Randy had awesome takedowns, self defence, boxing, and he even had Ortiz in a fucking CRUCIFIX!!!!!! Fuck G.I. Joe, Randy Couture is the real american hero!!!

Young at heart!

Randy Couture claims the light heavyweight title

Despite being 40 years old and the underdog, Randy Couture proved that he is still young at heart by claiming the undisputed light heavyweight title from Tito Ortiz. Even more impressive than the victory was the manner in which Couture accomplished the feat, dominating the fight by winning all five rounds.

Couture used his well crafted game plan and 30 years of wrestling experience completely befuddle Ortiz’s ground-and-pound attack. Amid moments of visible frustration, Ortiz was almost helpless against the seasoned veteran. From start-to-finish, Couture used his finely crafted Greco-Roman wrestling skills to control the clinch and force Ortiz to the ground. After the loss, Ortiz was noticeably overwhelmed, breaking down briefly as the fighters stood to await the decision.

With the victory Couture reinforced his claim as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world and the greatest UFC champion ever

If he wrestled any top olympic wrestler in his weight category he would get his ass handed to him. This was just a very accomplished wrestler who is past his prime against a tough guy with mixed skills but not great at any one thing. Everytime I've seen an accomplished wrestler of olypmic quality in the octagon, they have owned their opponent. I recall Dave Shultz, the olympic silver medalist going up agains a 275 pound monster, a black belt in some form of karate. Dave was 195, but he was a champion wrestler, he totally dominated the guy, took him down every time and beat him senseless until they had to stop it.
