385 today WTF?

yeah def tough to get strong during spring ball but wow i def could not be more excited about this cycle...seriously it keeps me up at night lol

I'm down from 302 lbs to 282 lbs...cutting right now...so the bench is off just a little...
 
thats good weight, but remember bench is the easiest exercise to get hurt on. I have pulled/strained my chest/delt-tie in once on each side from the bench. Now I usually do benches for my 2nd exercise. I think it is safer to do it this way, plus I get a better pump. Some people want to be big and others want to be strong. Just remember you may not get 385 on your next try if you go the following week. No sense in trying to hurt yourself, which is what will happen if you constantly try to set personal records.

Again, good job and as others have said you are closing in on 400.

Congrats man! My personal best was 375. Sadly I never made it to my all time goal, 4 plates (405) I worked so hard to get there but just couldn't do it. 375 was the best I could do. I don't know if I'll ever go for that goal again because my goals have changed now as I've gotten older, but damn would I love to do 405 just once in my life!

Sure if you train hard all the way through your season, eat right, get plenty of sleep and supplement correctly. From some of your other posts you seem to have a big frame. Benching is a lot of technique (arching your back correctly, flexing your lats).
