in The New Yorker (it's all they had at the doc's office) -
- There is a website out there, based outta NY, that is called something like URban Mom. And it's a chat forum for all these mothers to get on and talk to each other. Cept, almost every post is filled with brutal, surprising to some, honesty. "I know my hubby is cheating on me." "I never wanted this baby. I regret it." "I am cheating on my hubby." "I hate life." "I'm a drunk." scary stuff...
- There is apaprently some new trend off of craigslist, called missed connections (or something alike). It's a place where you can post a message to someone whom you saw for a fleeting moment - perhaps in the street, subway, store, etc - and you felt like there was an instant connection. very interesting. people will ALWAYS romanticize love and fairytale. it's not a bad thing, either.
