Your pick for a $30k out the door coupe

Find a way to get one of them new fangled Sciroccos!

Not available in the USA.

In Yoorope, it's actually a few bucks less than a comparably-equipped GTI. Dunno why VW USA won't bring 'em over, if they did I'd have one instead of my GTI.

the guy who got me into cars in undergrad had one. It was fun!

Big time
I called them a poor mans Delorean
My obsessions with VW's in my late teens early 20's was pathetic.

I had an 83 Scirocco 8V TOTAL BEATER, loved it though
Second one was a black on black 87 Scirocco 16V valve, tear drop rims

also had a 91 GTI 16 Valve Red/black int
85 Audi GT Couple Red/ Black

Finally I bought a new a 97 VR6 all tricked out, turbo,OZ racing rims, Black on Black (this car was fast and furious way before that shit)

i hate ford but, honestly? can u beat a mustang gt? styling, sound, performance...it has it all, in a fairly economical package.

For some reason I dont like the Nissan 2 door but love the 4 door, weird.

digimon-the 11 mustang gts look great IMO. They did a great job on the front end designing them unlike the previous model. Im partial to Ford/Toyota though.

I hate the Altima...out of those named, I'd go with a Mustang. The Civic SI is great for a smaller guy, but I sat in my buddy's SI and it felt too small for me (it also has an MSP of 29,372 when built with the options I'd want).

The problem with the civic is unfortunately Honda is still making I4's with absolutely no torque. What good is 197hp if you have to keep the engine screaming to get decent acceleration?

Having gone from a Honda to two Volkswagens, I think the torque thing is overrated. I had a lot more fun revving out my little CRX than I do lugging around at low RPMs.

I hear ya...that's why I'm an Accord coupe guy...gotta have the V6...but it's out of the price range you stated. Loaded up, it's almost 38k

shit this thread was a good idea. Even though I used to have a 335i a few years ago neither of us had even considered a BMW as an option for him. I guess we were thinking of BMW's as being way beyond the limit we set, but a used 328 would work. Normally aspirated V-6 would provide decent power and fuel economy, but also not require premium fuel.
