I'm staying in a piece of shit $275/week travelodge this week, non-refundable so I'm stuck. I even changed rooms once, but live and learn.
You who know me will laugh at me for this because it's so not bran, but this place has an ant problem. I noticed as soon as I had one tortilla chip on the table. But after research, there seems to be no problem without food out, anywhere.
So I had a trash bag I've been tying up food products in the past day and a half (I don't use the trash cans because it is so close to the ground, like ants are), anyway it got a semi.. large amount of trash in it, with diet coke bottles, styrofoam containers, paper products etc., we are talking like 1/3 the size of a regular garbage bag.
Ants have gotten smell of the bag even on top of the desk I hate nature it is so much smarter than us, so after I torched the fuckers with Raid Ant&Roach Killer Spray (which at this point is basically my deodorant) I took the bag outside. To the trash can. Which is just an ash tray with a small 5 inch diameter hole underneath it.
Dreading getting in that nasty elevator even once more for a 3 minute, 3 story ride to go down to the dumpster I decide to stuff my entire garbage bag into the small hole. I had to start with a small end, keep pushing, pull it back a few times and readjust because there were times when there was NO way it was going in.
Halfway in I was really frustrated but really committed and excited wondering if I could really put it all in like a black guy. Go back inside for my WD40 which was really symbolic and lube the edges of the trash sac. At this point I really just wish I threw it 3 stories down into the pool but that is the white guy in me talking. Then at the final stages I gently tugged and pulled tugged and pulled adjusted back and forth until this little ash tray trash bin was stuffed so full it will be impossible to ever get this thing back out, it's just a hassle more than anything else. They are probably going to have to disassemble the whole unit to fix it.
I now know the black plight. The WD40 was the only untrue part of this story.
