Video of the infamous Squat :)

Seriously though, It is not at all unbelieveable that RS can squat 5 plates a side.. That is only 500Lbs, I see it all the time in the gym.

and I actually used to squat closer to what that kid tried but that was when I was near 300 pounds and playing football. At first it was hard to make out what that kid had on there but as soon as I saw 600 my eyes popped. I remember what that kind of weight feels like. Most people can't squat 3 plates but they could support it on their shoulders. People don't understand that with that weight, the instant you unrack it you are uncomfortable....it's a hairy experience and only guys who have put 500+ on their backs "undastand". But I'm sure the guys who squat 900+ would say the same thing to me....it's a whole new ballgame. That kid probably blew out a vert. Who were the morons standing there taping this shit?

Isn't that crazy..... You'd think that kid would work his way up to it....

A few weeks ago I walk in to the leg room to start my routine and this kid say 20 yrs old that I've never seen in the gym before has 10 plates a side on the leg press. It litterally takes up both sides on the thing. He turn to me and says "hey man, can you give me a spot". I actually starting laughing out loud... Then had to explain to him why I couldn't/wouldn't spot him. So he presses the wieght up throw the handles down and crash!!! Drops the whole sled at about 19923020 million miles an hour.. Luck for him he got his legs outta the way... I just about had a stroke laughing!!

well im sure the machine had an emergency stop right? when i leg press i bring it all the way down and bounce it off the stopper. so if i fail i just crawl out.

Plunkey in 3, 2, ...

what's funny is that if you guys actually worked out hard you'd probably understand that 485 for a 260 pound guy isn't all that hot. And when I was 290 i was benching 425 and squatting 585...also not really world class lifts. If anything I would have understood if you guys pointed out that a 5 plate squat for a 260 pound dood who's been working out his whole life and used to juice isn't all that great, it's not even double bw. I see 210 pound teenagers doing that weight.

I do my sets w/ 3 plates and a 25.. I probably could do five plates at least once..

Which is why the vibrams-powered 5-plate squat should take you about 10 seconds total to catch on a camera phone.

This is why I continue to call bullshit. You can't do it.
