what can you run a two mile in?

right now today if you had to?
and what do you think is a good time for a fit bro?
discuss

Before I had peroneal nerve damage... I used to run 30 to 40 a week from high school all the way, off and on of course, to 25. I could run 2, I'm guessing in a lil over 13. I think for a fit bro anything around 1430 or 15 is excellent.

do you run plank?
and ariel i'm hovering around 14:45 on a treadmill, 14 flat on a road.
i fade though on any runs longer than 5 miles though.

First of all, you are a nature dude. This I know, studies show that for runs outside vs runs inside serotonin release after, you know during endorphin release... is double that of inside.
My point is, theoretically you should be running 14 inside, and 15+ outside.

Second, you are not Pre. You Shawn Merriman types aren't known for endurance... I would imagine that right around 4, the shins probably hurt... depending how much weight you put on last cycle.

IMO, for a guy your size, that's excellent. It's funny though, I noticed and have heard others state similar things, once you regularly break 5 miles on a normal basis... 10 gets easy.

I've always ran 2 in 14-1430 pretty consistently. I'm not a runner though. Most runners I know, blow that out of the water.

I easily trot 3 in 30 min so probably 15 for two if i was turning up the heat.

Just did 3.2 miles (5k) on the weekend in 21 mins - so if I had to do 1.2 less I could probably shave a bit off and do it in 12-13. My normal pace per mile for 5k is about 7 minutes.

Last time I did a mile on a track I did it in 6 minutes but that was all out and I was trying to pace 90s per 400.

truth be told, I'd do it in a car or on a bike, etc. Walking even if I had to, but no way I'm running that far unless there's some serious motivation at the end (large sum of cash, etc.).

what about in a pair of teh vibrams?

dude the world record is 7:58

so tacking on a minute and a half, for a 9:30 two mile, is way doable.
i work with a dude who does this weekly, proly could crack 9 if he really tried...and he was only a d-2 cross runner.
once you get that fast a minute is super huge

if you're a legit runner, 10ish is doable.

average joes aren't touching that.

fuk no avgs aren't sniffing that.
mid 13s is what i'm shooting for, i do this at
work and we track our times and compete so it's way fun.
but high school pimps are breaking 9 minutes, the oregon state
record is 8:48

That would be a very fast two mile run brah....

The fastest two mile run time is 2 sec shy of 8 min...

A six min. mile is considered great!

im a basketball player bro all i do is run, i remember in middle school when we would run a mile every friday the fastest time was a little over 4 mins and that was by a 7th grade kid

bullshit. the world record is 3:43 it wasn't until recently 4 minutes was even cracked.

no way a 7th grade kid came anywhere near breaking the world record.

there was actually a couple of kids that would get 1 mile in 4 minute range most would get around 4:50 i wana say fastest was around 4:20-4:30 it was a few years ago so i cant be to sure but i know for a fact that there was 7th and 8th grade kids at my school who would run a mile at those times.

Probably sub 5 is more accurate than 4:30 - I've seen teenagers winning 5k races doing 15-16 minutes but they are VERY rare (like best in their age group in the entire city) - 4:30/mile is really world class and those kids should try out for the Olympics.

sub 4:30 is a quite a feat for a 12-13 year old. i can't say that it's impossible, but if so, probably rare.

what does running for bball have to do with middle distance? unless your training requires that you run miles at a time just about every day...i doubt there's a carry over to the 2-mile. basketball is typically start and stop, brief periods of intensity, not sustained aerobic activity.

yea im not saying that everybody in my school did, it was just like 3 kids that were very athletic

if i can run a mile in 5 mins with out breaking much of a sweat(which i can) im sure i can get 2 miles at 10 mins if i try.

we know, we know...

and your cock is 12 inches, you make $300,000 a year (after taxes of course), have a home on the Amalfi Coast (in addition to several others), and of course you're huge and ripped and still run a 5 minute mile without breaking a sweat, while eating donuts and smoking a cigarette if you had to.

Oh...I got carried away on my first point, you should be running faster on the 'mill' cause your weight is supported, and running slower outside, cause you are carrying full load. IMO, you are more in sync outside, and thus times are faster, cause... well, running on a mill is for douche's.

I can't run on a mill, feel like a hamster. However, I bet cause you are outside, more in touch with nature, more motivation, more endorphins, etc...
better times, even though you are well carrying the full load, and not being supported by treadmill.

2x BW squat for reps > running

I don't run anywhere. I'll do intervals on the elliptical or pull my sled in the field beside my house for cardio.

I'm going to the mountains for a family reunion in a few weeks and I do intend on running some hill sprints while I'm there. That is of course if I'm not busy fucking my hot ass cousins.

strength with no cardio fitness = half-assed athlete

I agree completely.

Call me a puss, but running absolutely destroys my knees. I've tried running through the pain, but it's just not worth it. My cardio fitness is pretty damn good from sled drags and elliptical intervals.

running fucking kills my knees and shins too bro even if i do say 15mins fast walkin on the treadmill at an incline the next day I can feel it in the top of my shins...

kind of worrying at a young age

i wish, you got the 12 inch cock right though.

I could probably run it in 15min which is actually mediocre (I run 1'5miles in 10-10:30min currently; poor); been doing too many 2 hour steady state runs (8-10min miles) & not enough speed work.

A <6min / mile for 2 miles would be quite respectable. I've seen a number of prospective male soldiers run 1'5miles in 7-8min, most are built like whippets though & generally struggle with load carrying endurance runs.

I'm definitely faster on a treadmill. I don't necessarily like it as much as outside, but there is less impact and it's less strain on your muscles. For me, it's much easier on the tread.
