Over The weekend While I was at My ole ladies house Im making small talk w her Siblings 3 of which have multiple Nail salons 1 even has contracts w walmart to have her stores inside.Well,I suggested getting into being a wholesaler of the products And chemicals That all these salons Use and Now Im seriously looking to see whats involved with this as Im quite sure This would be In very High demand and profitable. Does anyone here know the Nail business ?Im quite curious abut this as I see Huge potential being connected nicely to The Asian People right now Like I am.

Selling maincure and pedicure supplies through walmart?

1) Are any of the chemicals regulated under FDA?

2) Are any of the chemicals regulated under EPA?

3) Do you really need anything other than tolulene (nail polish remover)?

4) Isn't part of the manicure/pedicure sell the sheer luxury of having it done for you?

Don't get me wrong... I'm not trying to piss on your Cheerios. I'm just asking a few questions since I don't know the segment.

Aren't those sold through beauty supply wholesalers?

Again, I'm not busting your balls here -- but why would WalMart tie-up shelf space for items that are purchased at the wholesale (a.k.a. virtually zero overhead) level?

I do think you should wear the orange sweater though when you go make some deals with the Asians. See I did give you some good advice.

I got that part from your original post.

You want to sell SUPPLIES.

Right now, manufacturers sell to wholesalers who sell their SUPPLIES to salons, right?

So why would you take a wholesale item and drive it through a consumer channel?

The salons are not the consumers they provide service to the consumer when the fuk is pick3 getting here you're giving me a headache

Let's try this another way...

I manufacture the best cuticle remover in the world. I currently sell it in five gallon drums to Acme Wholesaler Inc.

Asian Nails Inc. orders my five gallon drums from Acme Wholesaler who delivers the product to their doorstep on a weekly basis.

What changes in this brave new world envisioned by Shrimp Poboy?

f that noise, too much work, i'm thinking about starting up my own church. Going to find some old used car lot salesman and make him the rev while i sit back and count the cash

Whiskey

I have you timed Out Until Monday Suck it up.75th got a perma but he can plead his case hear for reinstatmet and I May consider it.

I highly doubt that 75th gives a fuck if you have him on ingore for life, can I request being put on your ignore list for a lifetime as this would infact probably put a smile on my face.

thank you for your consideration.

Also MrPlunky is totally correct, there isn't a high demand for new wholesales when the market is already saturated with suppliers.

wholesaler? what's wrong with how they get their products right now? How is you adding an extra cost to this going to benefit them? i'm confused. "Hi ACME Nail Salon. I want to sell you supplies more expensive than what ur paying right now".

Dude - do you even read his threads??? He is trying to be a beauty supplyu wholesaler for the salons. Nothing to do with Walmart.

Hey Shrimp you stupid, lazy fuck (I say that with great affection).

Just do the math for yourself. If your future sister-in-laws have salons, ask them how much they're spending on chemicals now. Then find a manufacturer and get high-volume prices from them. Figure out how much you can make from each salon and how many salons you would have to supply to make it worth your while. You've got the inside information, now just finish the leg work.

If you really want to make money, start sponsoring more of your GF's family (females) to come over on work visas. Then open up a string of tug joints and force the girls to work there. Gold mine right there.

No. No. No.
I quote, "I have the orange sweater and I want to stand at the front door greeting folks and painting their nails."

Pretty much, ask her what supplies she uses and how much she pays, then call other suppliers in behalf of her nail salon to check their average prices, then visit the product manufacturers and try buying in bulk/volume, sell significantly lower in order to increase sales and sell in volume, Example: instead of selling 20 in $10 sell 70 in $8.

Most common nail supplies are the poweders used on acrylic nails along with its liquid activating bottle, brushes, tip clippers, acrilic cups, 100% acetone for removing nails, no-aetone nail polish remover, nail polishes, ceramic coatings, UV lamps, quick dry products, tips in all colors and shapes, nail tables, buffers, files, acetone nail removers that include the nail remover, rhinestones and decals and others.

Yes I do nails too, many pedi and artificial

unless you want to buy in bulk in tens of thousands or millions - manufacturers do not sell to joe blows off the street.

That's what "distributors" are for and they're not gonna piss off their biggest customers by selling you for less than what they sell their big distributors. But i guess he'll find out tihs the hard way :)

Then he can get it from distributors at same price as whole salers but sell even lower in order to sell in volume ($10 : 20< $8:70 example)

I considered that was what he meant, but it made no sense to me. Thinking three salons would have any impact on his economies of scale is nuts -- maybe he he should become a coca cola distributor too.

Most a-holes are still working with this 1980's business model.

These days you can go on the net and find anything you want direct from the manufacturer. All Shrimp has to do is stock some shit in his garage and he can go in and sell against the distributors with almost no overhead.

OK, maybe I exagerated when I said "anything". But Newegg.com can get you a LCD TV cheaper than in stores. Never looked at plasma.
