My progress pics: Jan-April

I did a show at the end of October last year. It was the first time I got really lean for a contest, but it showed just how little actual muscle I had. At 6'2" I competed at 188 lbs in the novice class. Anyway, from the show until Jan. I just coasted and recouperated. I mean, I trained hard and ate decently well, but basically maintained strength while evening out a bit. Blah blah blah...

I took this first pic sometime in Jan. before I began my bulk up. I weighed around 195 and was fairly lean at around 10% bf or thereabouts, still had decent abs. I started my bulk up cycle in Feb. and took in just under a gram (varying from 800-950 mg. per week at various points) I used prop, tren ace, EQ, and M-drol for part of it. I also did some humalog in small doses 4-6 iu pre-workout.. that's a whole topic in itself, but it worked fine. I was on for about 10 weeks and am now starting my pct. All in all I kept reasonably lean- not too fat. I can still see the outline of abs in good light, but will be leaning up most of the summer with another bulk in fall. I weigh 225 in the morning and 230 at night right now and will likely be losing some of that water weight pretty soon.

Here's three pics taken after my workout today. I'm no monster, given my weight and height. But, I'm very happy with the mass put on in a fairly short time! It was a successful cycle for me and I learned a lot from it.

Great work bro! Nice progress,,, keep it up!

Thanks guys! You guys are making my day! I got blasted here and there (on other forums) for some of what I was using and how I was using it. But, I kept my overall doses reasonable and got the results I was seeking.

I've been training (again, after a long layoff) for about 8 years now. I started off very very skinny and have struggled to put on muscle without getting fat. The last couple years I've competed several times, always doing poorly- learning the hard way, lol. But, I feel like I've worked out a lot of the bugs in my contest diet, bulking etc. and am finally ready to put it all together for some real results.

My diet revolved around the idea of protein cycling. I started at baseline (for me 180 grams per day) and tried (wasn't totally consistent) to add in a bit more (30-35 grams per day) to my daily total every two weeks. The carbs and fat increased to support the protein intake. Over the course of 12 weeks (started the diet two weeks early) I went from about 3500 cal per day to well over 5000. At the end I was eating about whatever I wanted, but always based around a high protein meal with good "meat and potato" type foods- not a lot of pure junk. I found that by relying less on shakes and more on real foods I gained more weight. Plus, I was primed to grow from all that damned dieting I did last year.

I really appreciate the positive feedback. Thanks again!

I just checked in at the other site I visit, posted the same thing over there as I have a few people who just post on there I thought I'd share it with... Jeesh.. lol. I got blasted with "you're using too much!" " you're too small to be using that much.." ect. Well, how are us juiceheads supposed to get bigger anyway?!

My plan was to maximize muscle gains/mass in a blast and gain as much as possible, reduce the fat over the summer, hit it again in fall.. Gaining 30 fairly solid lbs is damn good imo! lol. Who the fuck even gains 30 lbs this late in the game? I would have gained, maybe 20 lbs gross with my "usual" cycle of tren and prop and then lost 8 lbs of water immediately after stopping and still had the same amount of fat (5-6 lbs) to work off... all for maybe 5-6 lbs of actual gains over 2 months. Not that I'd complain about that, but I swear I gained less fat than usual, kept water reasonable, and gained easily twice as much muscle using 33% more gear (in mg totals)!

There's a reason the big guys use the amounts they do.. For one, using a higher amount keeps the fat gains minimal. And, you think anyone got to 250 muscular, lean lbs using 400 mg of test a week!? Ok, maybe someone, but not most! lol.

Ok, rant over... :)
