24 Hour Fitness Just Cold Called the Wrong Guy...

This guy I worked with awhile back told me his trainer from 24 told him not to do lower body workouts besides running because it is bad for your knees. He said he has been with the guy for 2 years now and pays him weekly and then he went to tell me he works out 4 to 5 days a week.

Its true, you should just run for your lower body. Its all you need. Anything else will destroy your knees, guaranteed! Also you should never ever no matter what people say, never do deadlifts. It will destroy your back! Oh and never ever do squats more then 1/4 of the way down. That will also destroy your knees. Stick to machines they are the best for you! Eat 2000cals a day maximum and do cardio 6-7 days a week. Lets see what else? Oh yeah military press, never do those either. will destroy your shoulders. Dont even get me started with any of the clean movements. Flame on.
 
Obviously I realise the running comments are facetious, but don't PT's realise that when u run 4 times+ your bodyweight hits each leg.

If ur knees can take 10 miles of this, they can take squatting.

Never really thought about that, but it is true.
 
I run around 10-12 miles/week and I squat. My knees are fine.

Plus I'm old enough to remember Kennedy's inauguration address.

Thats strange Im 14 I squat but only do cardio once a week and my left knee is giving me a little trouble right now lol

shit that's not good.

It's an obvious question but make sure ur shoes are top notch. Don't want to mess with these things
 
What do you mean? I dont use weightlifting shoes, if I remember I take them off when squatting heavy but normally just keep them on for everything...

I know how I did it... when I was doing overhead squats a few of my reps had wobbly knees in, I did hiit the next day and made them worse and they just havnt got better yet.

I also hurt my lower back twisting during boxing and have walked with a bad posture for a while, so now I started to stand upright whilst walking my upper spinal erectors ache loads, probably not used to the extra effort.

Also my left elbow hurts at the tri insertion if I do heavy skulls or frenchpress.

Yes aches and pains are normal for me right now lol :(
 
I fucked up my knee a few weeks ago and the funny thing is I did it with 135 lbs. I was trying to put it on the rack to get ready for squats and for some reason I was tired as hell that day, but tried to just grab it with not so great form and clean it off the floor and needless to say I couldn't. I ended up dropping the bar on my right knee and twisted it sideways, but I'll never do that again.
